Description:

I think that could be usefull if KDE 4 support some simple postits as on the mockup (ok, they don't look great on it, but there's better designers than me (fortunately ^^')).

You could drap 'n drop a postit from the taskbar and add it on whatever you want. When you close that think and then open it again, it's still there so you don't forget.

You also can roll up the postit so it don't take too much space and don't bother you when you try to read the window

I personnaly prefer this kind of postits because I always forget to check if I have things to do on kontact :p

Well, that's a very, very nice idea you've got there. No further remarks to make, other than design-related, of course. :P Thumbs up, mate!

I like it...BUT doesn't KDE have a Postit app?? Perhaps a new angle Postits would be to use the already existing program and add plugins to it.

Strange proposal. I dont understand what is new about this? KNotes exists in KDE already.

My problem with KNote is that it stores notes in kontact and you have to check them in kontact, sometimes you may need to have application related notes or just really direct notes you can't miss.

I never found that feature on KNote, but maybe I didn't searched enough.

no, you don't have to check them in kontact. you can place them anywhere on your desktop. you can't bind them to windows though.

my advice: make a khotkey so you can open a new postit with a mouse gesture.
this way you can quickly write down things that come to your mind and place them right under your mouse.

I'm in.

true, I forgot that you can put them on desktop.

Well, it's a really good thing, but sometimes, add it on window or things like that could be so useful I think :)

The differences, for what I understood, is that in this new proposal you can "attach" a note to a windows, desktop, panel, etc. This way, when you resume a KDE session, all the notes come back to the place they where placed.

I really like the idea.

Solid idea. I especially like assigning them to windows.

 useful?

actually, post-it notes already exist, in real life. i think this idea would only be slightly useful if it got implemented in kde4. i would like kde to have as few features as possible to keep working in it simple and enjoyable.
honestly, how often would you use this instead of a physical post-it or just piece of paper?
