kicker will be replaced by plasma, so the clouds thing will be most likely redone/changed/improved. but since there won't be the systray anyway it won't be necessary.

this has to be done by the application developers, not by the kicker dev's. so you might just ask every individual app dev to do it (and file bugs)...

Yes, this can be implemented by an application developer by copying kickertip.{cpp,h} into his/her sources. However, I would say you should wait until libkicker comes out or kickertip will be moved out from the kicker to make apps only use the same source for same stuff and thus allowing for example new styles and so on more easily.

I have knewsticker directly above normal kde-kicker-panel. Maybe it would be a good idea to let that damned systemtray-clouds above the last stacked panel so you can read it and it is not overdrawn by knewsticker or something else.
