 Works with 2.9.x

by anonymous on: Nov 3 2001

Score 50%

Compiled with 2.9.x (replacing the admin directory), and it seems to work fine. Only one change was neccessary - in Qt3 with QT_NO_COMPAT set,
WNorthWestGravity seems deprectaed in favor of WStaticContents...

Thanks for this great style!

Can someone please help me here. How can you remove the Trashcan from the desktop? If I do remove it and restart KDE, it reappears.

I know this is not the right place to ask this, but maybe someone can help me.

Thank you.

 trash can removal

You can make the trash can seem to
dissapear by replacing the kfm_trashfull.xpm and kfm_trash.xpm icons with a transparent one. Make a transparent icon in iconeditor by
just saving an empty icon(ie, just open then close iconeditor and save the file). Rename this transparent icon to kfm_trashfull.xpm (and a copy to kfm_trash.xpm) and (as root) replace the original trash icon with the transparent one. You must restart KDE for this to take effect. I'm trying to remember...I think kfm_trashfull lives in /usr/share/icons but you may need to search for it. On some distributions I have found more than one set of trash icons. If this is the case you'll have to try all of them in turn to see which one is on the desktop.

I'm using debian and I have installed kde 2.2.1 to /opt/kde2 (from sources). This is what I get

> ./configure --prefix=/opt/kde2
(configure runs fine)
> make
...
...
config.cpp:226: config.moc: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [config.lo] Error 1

Can someone help me?

..exact instructions on how to get this to compile under SuSE 7.1 / 7.2..it's being cranky.

Here's the error:

 Installing themes

A little information on how to install blackbox themes would be appreciated. Links to this information seem down at bb's website.

 look at the kbox web

look at the kbox website (also, the link to the blackbox themes.org seems to be up).

*(*see note below) 8). stick the styles files in ~/.kde/share/apps/kwin/blackbox-styles

* update: some people are apparently having trouble with putting the blackbox styles in the right place. if you are getting just a black screen, that means that kbox can't find the style. try untarring the tarball. then moving the style file (it may be named anything, but is usually the only file in the tarball other than images that are not needed) from the tarball into the blackbox-styles directory.

What's the license? I assume its GPL as gallium's Icewm style is GPL I think.

Looks very nice!!
