This is a great news (also for dot.kde.org :)
Blackbox has some realy nice gradients and I am sure many people will love window decorations imported from blackbox styles.

It compiled and installed just fine on my Mandrake 8.1 system (prefix=/usr). But when I switch to the kwin decoration, all I get is a black box (no pun intended) with not buttons, nada. I downloaded a bb themes from bb.classic.themes.org and put the tarball in the appropriate direcotry (/.kde/share/apps/kwin/blackbox-themes); Kbox lists the tarball itself in it's style list, but then I swtich to it the same thing appears. I untarred the tarball in it's own directory underneath blackbox-themes, and kbox lists that directory name.directory, and it still doesn't work. I figured even the default style would show something, but all I get is blackness where something would've been drawn. Poo poo! What's wrong?:o(

oh yeah, i forgot, it should be blackbox-styles, not blackbox-themes. no such thing as themes in blackbox :-)

In the right directory. (blackbox-styles). What I had to do to get it working was copy the Styles/ file from the tarball to the blackbox-styles directory. Nice job with kbox. :o)

yeah, 0.1 doesn't include a default style (anyone wanna make one for me? :-) )

that's why I said "please read the instructions on http://kbox.sourceforge.net/ (you need to download some blackbox styles)."

what you need to do is untar the tarball. then stick the style file (it may be named anything, but is usually the only file in the tarball other than images that are not needed) from the tarball into the blackbox-styles directory.

it's glisp by artwiz.

works if you don't have antialiasing on (or lreaunch kwin with QT_XFT=0 kwin)

..but it appears not to want to compile on SuSE 7.1 or 7.2. Guess I'll wait for the next revision.

I compiled it on SuSE 7.1 with no problems. Before you configure do export KDEDIR=/opt/kde2 and export QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt2 You have to do this to compile all KDE apps.
