Description:

Kitty is a plain DTV and Kitty (and now a generical podcast) client for Linux. DTV is the well-known Internet TV service for Apple Mac users. Now also KDE users can watch DTV on their desktops!

PS: The Kitty TV Guide service is also made by me!

[INTERMISSION]

Well... that is the 0.9.2 release of Kitty, after quite long time. I switched from Slackware to Debian and for this the release was delayed.
However I don't know if the next one will be as quick as these because I'm starting new projects in another languages that will absorb all my time.
This time I've to thank a bunch of people who are helping this project a lot.
Grentis, which is my "testers team". This time I've sent the package to him for testing... And it should work.
Bianca (my GF) which is ever near me, while the long silent developing hours. Thank you!
David R. for his bug report and their congrats. I'll keep an eye to Kitty.
Kurt Pfeifle for his invitation to the Klik mantainers team for kitty. I'm waiting your emails!
Daniel Faust for his suggestions. Part of them are now implemented. :)
Ize, which was writing a gentoo ebuild for Kitty. Someone is waiting for him! ;)
jaykayess, for his suggestion. I've tried to do what you asked but needs too much time. It's faster to extend Akregator! ;)
gohanz who is packing Kitty for Slackware. Thank you so much!

This is definitely an interesting app. I look forward to seeing where it goes. It does seem to be rather crash-happy at the moment, though (although, I suspect the kaffeine part might be to blame; it has a propensity to crash konqueror as well). Is there some place to submit bugs if we find them? Is there a home page?

Hi! THX for your comment. I'm really happy!
Kaffeine streams stuff not so good.
It keep crashing because it isn't able to stream certain kind of movie.
I suggest you to use KMPlayer, which is built on the really good MPlayer.
It crashes less... LOL! ;)
Or, if you want to keep Kaffeine, I suggest you to download first a movie and then play it (or use the "Open movie" instead the "Play movie").

(The original DTV is built on the really-cool Quicktime - sigh!)

using < p > and < /p > to let line breaks visible in the posts.

also you could use < br > and < /br >



just like < html > and < /html > use < p > and < /p >

the problem is that the default_theme directory didn't make it into the tarball. and the symlinks use full paths instead of relative path, e.g. kitty-novideo.png -> /home/kes/kitty/src/default_theme/kitty-novideo.png instead of kitty-novideo.png -> default_theme/kitty-novideo.png So we need a new tarball which includes the default_theme directory and it's contents.

You're right guys! I'm remaking the tarball by hand.
I've asked to KDevelop to make the tarball for me but seems that he made full-path links instead the relative links.
Also moc files aren't automatically generated and I can't figure how to make it work.
I've just wake up and I'm trying to make it work. Sorry.

Hi, really cool app. Unfortunately it crashed while trying to tune in a video stream. I couldn't get a backtrace. One tip, you should save the settings, when the user makes them and not at program exit.

Probably is a bug I found between the 0.1 and the 0.9 version (try2 - the latest tarball don't work).
Try this newer version when I'll submit the correct one and tell me if this don't work.



BTW... I really heave to say a big thaknkyou to all the pakager that are packaging kitty. Is an honour!

Cool Application now i can compile it with my Slackware 10.2 :)
But where is the cat logo on the Kde Menu?
I can see only Kitty (Poadcast Client) without logo. ;)
