 Nice. Suggestions

by dovidhalevi on: Sep 10 2005

1. Window is far too large. Would like an option to resize. I am running at 1178 x 860 or something like that so if it's so big on mine, think about those running 1028 or smaller!

2. Right-click entry of "possible" entries is very awkward having to "select a number" beforehand. Look at the interface in the "sgt-puzzles" package "solo"--very similar but much more playable. Also, his screen size might be small for some but I like it.

Thanks for suggestions.
For number one, does not the resize function work(you can resize the window normally)
I will work on number placing system for version 0.2 (a couple of days).

Yes indeed, the resize works.

The number-choosing toolbar makes that a bit more convenient but I prefer the "solo" interface.

The possibilities number (superscript) are unreadable at (to me) sensible window sizes. Plenty of room to make 'em bigger :-)

Your hard games are really hard! I can always solve solo's!

Ok, I am sorry, just misunderstood the resize problem, i will fix it.

All puzzles are 100% 1 solution checked, except "very hard" ones that could have multiple solutions.

So levels lower or equal to hard should be solvable, they could seem hard because (as I saw from solo's source) solo uses a reverse-logic scheme based elimiation algorithm, ksudoku uses a random elimination algorithm, that produces puzzles that could require more than usual resolution strategies.

 little bug in 0.2

Hi, nice game.

But there is a little bug:

After you have solved or let have solved a requester appears.
You close it the first time, everything is ok.
You click "Solve" a second time, and this requester appears in an endless loop, and you have to kill the program from the task manager.

so long,
uja

You've made an excellent app! I also wanted to program a sudoku generator, and you've done just this. The user interface is also nice. Thank you!

 ksuduku on Fedora

 by kfries6 on: Sep 30 2005

Is anyone maintaining a RPM package for this that installs in Fedora?

Fedora install fails looking for

- libaudio.so.2
- libexpat.so.1

Neither of which is available or easily obtainable for Fedora.

Thx

Try rpm rpm -ivh --nodeps ksudoku-0.2-1.i386.rpm

If, at the first run, the window is too small enlarge it.

This does not work! Doing so causes ksudoku to error out with the following message:

ksudoku: error while loading shared libraries: libaudio.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
