Description:

nuoveXT is an icon theme for GNOME and KDE.

This is my first attempt of creating an icon theme. There is still a lots to do, but I thought I could share what I've done so far. Made entirely with Inkscape.

A big THANKS to:

- Inkscape: what a great tool! :D
- Ubuntu, Linux and Open Source in general
- All the other GNOME and KDE artists who have inspired me and specially everaldo (http://www.everaldo.com/) which is, I think, simply the best icon designer out there ;-)
- Open Clip Art Library (http://openclipart.org/).
- DeviantArt: One of the best place for inspiration and artworks.
- pwsp.net for hosting my project.

Constructive feedbacks are more than welcome ;-)

Enjoy!

Saki

 SnowIsh to KDE?

Hi Saki, could you please port SnowIsh to KDE? SnowIsh is THE best icon sets I've ever seen! I just can't afford not using it under KDE :-)

Hi!

I really need a Konversation icon, could you make this for me? If you make it my Panels are complete. :)

Thanks for this Icon theme, it's just awsome.

Yeah! Penguins over all!

I like this, but most of the icons aren't clear enough unless they are made to be huge. Check out Nuvola for a good icon theme that scales well.

 hostile folders

Please consider representing folders a little bit more like people expect them to be.
They seem to be standing in an unusable way on the desktop, always empty, no matter if you get in and has some thing in it.
Why make people turn their heads 90º left just to say "yes it seems like a folder"?, why another visual shock to newcomers from other (and even the same) OS's?
I think it is a very huge step back in usability.

I like the folders. I like the whole icon set. 2nd only to the OSX set from Gnome.

The folders are what I most like :) And I guess it won't be that shocking anymore when people have seen vista...

If you don't like the folders use nuvox or so which uses the OS-L (?) folders instead.

 prophetic icons

Seems you have a magical glass bowl or so... The white animals in your firefox- and thunderbird icons now perfectly match the new program's names in Debian: iceweasel and icedove.

 Great great work

I admire these icons! They are nothing short of spectacular.

I have though a few complaints. Small ones. Very small. The "new document", copy, paste, cut, and properties icons are VERY hard to see when they are used in toolbars on systems with a light colorscheme, such as my own.

Toolbars are very sensitive areas, because most people only have the icons to go on. It is not good to have to hover each button in the toolbar and look at the tooltip to decide what function the button has.

Therefore I think that these buttons need a remake. Try yourself and see what i mean. I use the "Gilouche" colorscheme: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=44134

There are also some other icons that, when scaled down, become a bit blurry. Look at Everaldo. His icons are great at this.

Anyways. Keep up the great great work.
