Description:

nuoveXT is an icon theme for GNOME and KDE.

This is my first attempt of creating an icon theme. There is still a lots to do, but I thought I could share what I've done so far. Made entirely with Inkscape.

A big THANKS to:

- Inkscape: what a great tool! :D
- Ubuntu, Linux and Open Source in general
- All the other GNOME and KDE artists who have inspired me and specially everaldo (http://www.everaldo.com/) which is, I think, simply the best icon designer out there ;-)
- Open Clip Art Library (http://openclipart.org/).
- DeviantArt: One of the best place for inspiration and artworks.
- pwsp.net for hosting my project.

This is my preferred theme with ubuntu feisty but it doesn't work perfectly with the new version of gnome embedded with ubuntu hardy. I hope that you will keep this great theme alive with a new fix. Thanks.

Dude, this is completely uncool. Don't come to someone else's theme and put up adds for your own. People know your theme is available. It's there on the front page most of the time.

have to agree with you partially, but this thing with putting up adds on others icon-theme, is just not acceptable, and should cause you an timed ban on this page, in my opinion, but sad to see that you cant wait for people to discover your icon-theme.

I have the nouveXt modded in the last Weeks.
Is not complete, are almost.
Whe you now Work proceed, the nouvext Theme, than send my Work to you.

Da ich nicht weiß ob das verständliches ist, lieber nochmal auf Deutsch.
Wäre nicht schlecht wenn jemand korekt übersetzen kann

Also, ich habe das nouveXtTheme die letzten Wochen bearbeitet. (da es ja lange still hier war) Ich habe fehlende Iconnamen hinzugefügt und auch ein paar neue Icons bestehenden gebastelt.
Wenn er nun das Theme weiter pflegt, dann würde ich ihm das zuschicken, statts es selber zu veröffentlichen.

 Extreme CPU-usage

Hello,
I'm using the nuoveXT 1.7 Icon-Theme and I very like it, but I've got some problems...

When an application wants me to open a file, using the file open dialogue of gnome, the CPU_usage goes to 100%. I think this is caused by the scalable icons which are included. When I remove the scalable-folder all is working fine, but some icons, for example the mime-icons are missing (of course).
Is there any possibility to convert the scalable icons to PNGs?

I can second that, observed more or less massive slowdown (depending on CPU) on 3 machines. Removing 'scalable' helps.
Machines were running Ubuntu jaunty.
