Description:

Sorry, there is no change yet to the theme, this is just an update of Dan's email address. Since there is almost no new stuff showing up on KDE-Look due to the recent traffic troubles I hope nobody is bothered when this shows up again on the front page. We are currently working on 0.5.0 so stay tuned. :-)

---

The AquaFusion team proudly presents the Fourth Edition of the "Aqua Fusion" Icon Theme! This extensive and elaborate package continues to grow, and now contains 724 created-from-scratch icons in the "Aqua" style for devices, filesystems, mimetypes, actions and applications. All standard sizes from 16x16 up to 64x64 are included.

The entire device section has been reworked and many colorful new folders were added. Moreover various newly created icons found their way into the new package.

Please read the Changelog for all news.

This fusion between "Aqua" and Linux has been made possible through an ongoing collaboration between Daniel Flax (design & artwork) and Markus Mueller (adaptation & preparation). We are proud of what we have been able to achieve over the last several months, especially considering that fact that we are both located on different continents. We hope you will enjoy these icons as much as we do.

Over the next several months, our plan is to continue refining and expanding this theme based on your feedback and testing.

In order to give us some valuable direction in the proper development of this body of work, we would love to hear your opinion about the "Aqua Fusion" design.

Changelog:

* added 130 new icons (aggregating to a total of 724 different items), 92 of them replacing old icons by more elaborated and colorful versions.

* includes 217 action icons, 286 application icons, 74 device icons, 79 filesystem icons, 69 mimetype icons

* fixed some naming errors, tidied up all icon sections and deleted a few items that were previously merged into the plug-in

* provided a small FAQ and INSTALL instructions

License:
The whole package is released under the "Design Science Licence" which is approved by the FSF as "free and copyleft license meant for artistic works" and conforms to the GPL.

Hi,

this is one great icon theme.
I have just one more icon on my wishlist:
I would like to have one which looks like a shell.
Is this possible without too much trouble?

Looking forward to any new release and many more
such icons ...

Michael Flohr

Yes indeed, I will be sending a shell or two icon to be posted with the next release.

Nice idea!

I'd like to have a taskbar like the ones in the screenshots... Please tell me where to get the background image for that.

It magically appears when you use Aronnax' "Acqua(-Graphite)" Style. You can find in section Themes/Styles.
Another way is to use -alex' "striped backgrounds for Kicker" which you can find in section "Other".

Hello

Since you ask for it in your README.

I would like to see a Lotus Notes icon in this icon theme. It would be neat!! :)

 Opera?!

hey, what happened to the Opera icon in the beta 0.2 release? it used to be part of the extended set for v.0.1, but now there isn't one to go with 0.2. it's back to the lame old 'O' design.

huh?

You have to select and [Apply] the plug-in's entry after you have installed a new version of the main Aqua Fusion icon set. Then the icons from the plug-in will reappear.

 nope!

no, i mean that the opera icon in version 0.2 is the standard, red, "O" with a shadow, just like it is for a normal icon set. in the aqua fusion extended apps packet (that was an add-on to beta 0.1) i had a nice blue opera icon.

when i apply the extension (the extended apps set for version 0.1), it reverts all the icons to version 0.1. i checked the iconset. really!

 Trash

while we're at it:

i kinda preferred the trash bin icon in version 0.1. the semi-hollow recycling symbol for empty, the solid symbol for full. i thought that was pretty clever.

i'm so bloody PICKY. sorry. just a suggestion.

and another suggestion: i thought the desktop icon in v0.1 was better, too (the three differently sized circles)

i kind of like more abstract icons, see.

 Opera!

this referes specifically to v 0.3, something seemingly none of the comments above do. i'm not sure why KDE-L pasted comments from your previous release onto this one. but anyway:

it's great! the old Opera icon (the swank blue O) is back now, and while i'm not usually a fan of lots of color, this is pretty tasteful.

now, about that trash bin...

That's a great improvement! Go on, this icon set is fantastic, but there is still work to do! Guys, you're great!

 Great Icons but.....

First, let me state this, I love the icons. Next, my rant; I would love to see some Aqua styled Icons for linux supported games (Such as Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2K3, Quake 3, RTCW, Never Winter Nights...etc etc)

Games icons will be a focus of our next release, so you can expect at least some of the icons you ask for.
BTW, there is no known way to convert the icons to a "chromium" look, sorry.
