Description:

This is a joke screensaver for KDE 2.2. This is great for fooling your boss! ("Yes, sir, I've got that server upgraded like you asked for..")
:) -dT-

Changelog:

* Fixed a problem in kcad.cpp which was preventing clean compilation. Should work better now. (my apologies for such a sloppy release!)

 Yeah, I know...

This screensaver has issues (probably due to the way libkscreensaver handles screen refreshses) on higher-loaded systems. You may be able to tune it using the kscreensavers control panel... :) -dT-

Good joke, and no risk for the machine to be rebooted...

In my university, every computer was multiboot nt/linux. I used linux + kde with the "death blue screen" screensaver, but windowsians was so used to see crashed NT that they really thought it was crashed; they just pushed the reset button to log on :(.

With this ss no risk !!

I'm glad I can save you from unnecessary reboots. I hope you enjoy the "upgrade" I've given the screensaver. :) -dT-

 New Features in 1.1

* "Upgraded" the windows "emulation" - Now includes "support" for Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and the new, "stable" Windows .NET "Server".

* Working on adding a configuration dialog. It works ok, but doesn't accurately preview the selected item (causing it to do so kills kcmshell, should have that fixed soon ;).

Hope you enjoy being the first person in the office to "run" Windows .NET. :) -dT-

 "kde mode"

what about adding a "kde" mode to the screensaver ?
this would also be cool!

I'm actually working on writing a new screensaver which will JUST have a bouncing KDE logo. There'll be a neat catch which makes it worth it, though... I'll post more information as I make progress on it. :) -dT-

 Stop this!

We don't need things like these.
It just creates the impression
that kde wants to imitate windows.

I want kde for kde, not for
looking like windows.

If you are not creative enough
for this site, just stay away of
it.

What part of "joke" screensaver do you NOT understand? Have you even _seen_ any of the other software I've put here? :/ -dT-

Let that one go. Some people like to hear themselves complain. I, for one, appreciate the work you put into it.

Mostly, I referred to the sources for existing KSS modules. Feel free to e-mail me if you want... I may be able to provide some simple skeleton code for ya. :) -dT- (brian@shadowcom.net)
