 Nice and clean

I like the the general impression of this theme. The only thing I don't like is that the checkbox has a MS'ish background while the radiobuttons look modern.

Excellent theme. I'm using it every day and I would like to see it included in the next KDE release.
I suggest 2 important improvements:
1) Make the text bold and black for the active window in the kicker
2) Make the selection color in the kicker not white, but dark (i.e. blue).
THX and good work!

 Dual scroll arrows

Excellent work! With the addition of adjustable gradients, this theme tops QNiX IMHO. (I like very strong gradients :)

I have a feature request. It's something that several of the other styles already do: dual scroll arrows. For those of us without mouse wheels, having the up/left scroll arrows right next to the bottom/right scroll arrows is immeasurably useful.

 Suggestion

Thanks for the suggestion. I chose to follow the Photon way instead of the KDE or Next way for the scroll bars. I don't want to create a dedicated Control Center module for the Qinx style, so I need to hardcode this in. But I understand your rationale and will ponder it.

 Improve Menus?

by keysor on: Aug 9 2002

A great theme so far. Could the "mouseover" highlight around the name of each menu appear recessed instead of raised? And the menus themselves still need some work-- perhaps a recessed gradient highlight, instead of a solid color. (And could the menu itself have a slight gradient?)

My only other suggestion would be making the title bars more like QNiX-- put a vertical line to the right of the top left button, and keep the horizontal lines at the top and bottom on the inactive title bar. (Not sure if this is how Photon does it or not, but I liked it from QNiX...)

Anyway, great job-- we _definitely_ needed a QNiX port to KDE 3. Thanks!

 Improve Menus?

Thanks for the suggestions. My goal in this theme is to make it look as much like Photon as possible. Most of the differences are due to Qt/KDE constraints or difficulty in implementation.

But I will keep your suggestions in mind though the next time I pull out Qinx to work on.

 cannot select

Great screenshots :)

I compiled it for kde3 in mandrake 8.2 using the 2.96 gcc. I installed it onto /opt/kde3 and although everithing went apparently allright, the style doesn't showup in kcontrol.

The window decoration appears in kcontrol, but when selected chooses kDE2 default window decoration.

I must be missing something...
