Thanks for this! And with a possibility to purge the configuration files (as a uninstall option) and a more detailed package information (complete output of "apt-cache show") Kynaptic would be perfect :-)

My version has that feature.

All I have to do is move my mouse pointer over a package name and a brief description pops up as a tooltip.

I wish it had some kind of progress indicator to show SOMETHING was being done during the actual unpacking and install of the debs.

If a package requires interaction with the user during it's configuration, will Kynaptic pop up a window so you can do this??
