Lipstik is a fast and clean style for KDE3 with many options to tune your desktop look.

Just try it! :)

INSTALLATION : Please read the INSTALL file.

CONFIGURATION : You can find many options in the style's configuration panel. Go to Settings/Appearance & Themes/Style and click on the 'configure' button.

BUGS : Read the BUGS file; if the issue is not reported, post a comment below, I'll try to read them often.

Lipstik now has a home page, go check it out!

Have fun!

Changelog:

---01/10/2007---
2.2.3 : For my PC-BSD friends...
--Add a configurable active tab highlight color.
--PC-BSD rocks! Try it!

---17/02/2007---
2.2.2 : After one year...
--Just a repackaging of the special Debian version.
--Updated the spec file for Fedora Core 6, thanks to Pramod Venugopal.
--Lipstik now has a home page (http://poplix.homelinux.com/lipstik).

...I have a new version (2.3) locally but it will need some more testing before I release it; Lipstik is still not dead after all ;)

I've packed lipstik as "kde-style-lipstik" which is now available in the debian archives.

Kind regards

Bastian

 compilation problems

Hi,

there are some compil problems. It seems that the compil process enters an endless loop. Here is the output :

>> make

cd .. && perl admin/am_edit style/Makefile.in

Looking at this output, i think you should set your computer clock to tommorow, then rebuild lipstik, and reset your clock.

Or better still:

$ tar xvfj ~/18223-lipstik-1.99.tar.bz2
$ find lipstik-1.99/ -exec touch '{}' \;

and then configure + compile as usual.

I find this happens more often than I like when I use downloaded tarball sources...so I created a little python script to fix it for me:

#!/usr/bin/env python

import os
import sys

if len(sys.argv) >= 2:
  the_path = sys.argv[1]
else:
  the_path = '.'

for path, dirs, files in os.walk(the_path):
  for f in files:
    f = os.path.join(path, f)
    print 'Touching %s ... ' % f,
    os.system('touch %s' % f)
    print 'DONE.'

sys.exit(0)

I could use bash/shell, but I was prefer the python version.

Thanks for the python script. I have never had this problem before ... it must occur when someone uploads a package that is in a timezone way ahead of mine.

I got the same infinite loop when trying to build. Setting my clock a day ahead worked like you said (not exactly sure why though).

Style looks great ... I have been bothered by themes that only have fat (wide) scroll bars. The sharpened menu's are nice too.

Thanks for your work, looking forward to 2.0 final :).

 Compilation problem.

 by peratu on: Dec 6 2005

I need to change aclocal.m4 and Makefile to use automake-1.9 or automake-1.7.

When I'm compiling, appers every time:

/bin/sh /home/peratu/rpm/SOURCES/lipstik-1.99/admin/missing --run automake-1.7 --foreign style/Makefile
cd .. && /bin/sh ./config.status style/Makefile depfiles
fast creating style/Makefile
config.status: executing depfiles commands
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/peratu/rpm/SOURCES/lipstik-1.99/style'
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/peratu/rpm/SOURCES/lipstik-1.99/style'
cd .. && \
/bin/sh /home/peratu/rpm/SOURCES/lipstik-1.99/admin/missing --run automake-1.7 --foreign style/Makefile
cd .. && /bin/sh ./config.status style/Makefile depfiles
fast creating style/Makefile
config.status: executing depfiles commands
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/peratu/rpm/SOURCES/lipstik-1.99/style'
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/peratu/rpm/SOURCES/lipstik-1.99/style'
cd .. && \
/bin/sh /home/peratu/rpm/SOURCES/lipstik-1.99/admin/missing --run automake-1.7 --foreign style/Makefile
cd .. && /bin/sh ./config.status style/Makefile depfiles
fast creating style/Makefile
config.status: executing depfiles commands
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/peratu/rpm/SOURCES/lipstik-1.99/style'
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/peratu/rpm/SOURCES/lipstik-1.99/style'
cd .. && \

etc, etc, etc.

Why?

What is your distro? Are you able to build it?

Evil: Try making a symlink named automake-1.8 to your current automake-$VERSION.

My distro is Mandriva Cooker.
I have already a link to automake-1.9. Look this:

[peratu@ibook ~]$ ls -l /usr/bin/automake-1.9
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 221993 oct 13 09:52 /usr/bin/automake-1.9*
[peratu@ibook ~]$ ls -l /usr/bin/automake-1.8
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 oct 13 15:24 /usr/bin/automake-1.8 -> automake-1.9*
