Description:

Lipstik is a fast and clean style for KDE3 with many options to tune your desktop look.

Just try it! :)

INSTALLATION : Please read the INSTALL file.

CONFIGURATION : You can find many options in the style's configuration panel. Go to Settings/Appearance & Themes/Style and click on the 'configure' button.

BUGS : Read the BUGS file; if the issue is not reported, post a comment below, I'll try to read them often.

DEBUG TRACE : If you have a debug trace, dont post it here; send it to me via email.

Lipstik now has a home page, go check it out!

Have fun!

Changelog:

---01/10/2007---
2.2.3 : For my PC-BSD friends...
--Add a configurable active tab highlight color.
--PC-BSD rocks! Try it!

---17/02/2007---
2.2.2 : After one year...
--Just a repackaging of the special Debian version.
--Updated the spec file for Fedora Core 6, thanks to Pramod Venugopal.
--Lipstik now has a home page (http://poplix.homelinux.com/lipstik).

...I have a new version (2.3) locally but it will need some more testing before I release it; Lipstik is still not dead after all ;)

For more good look you can add animation to CheckBox and RadioButton like in Zeta (Beos)!!!!!

It would be too much I think, i want to keep the style fast, and adding animation in widgets that, really, dont need it would only slow down lipstik.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion!

 Installation

Ok the INSTALL file tells us how to compile and "install" it. But how do you actually activate it in kde? I went to the theme manager, but its not there.. I have kde 3.3 by the way.

It would help if you tell what distro you are using. These problems are mostly related to configure not setting the right KDE base dir.

Find a program called kde-config on your system, then run this:
configure --prefix=`/path/to/this/program/kde-config --prefix`

/path/to/this/program could /opt/kde, /usr/bin, /usr/local/bin, etc.

Note: you must use ` not '

Have a nice day!

PS: I said its important to know what distro you use because some distros might be using some weird places to store styles, etc. Maybe someone using your distro will be able to help you.

 shadow text

If you can make the fonts have "shadow-text" property then Lipstik would be number1 for me.
Thanks for your efforts...

I will see what I can do, but for now I prefer to keep it simple.

Maybe in Lipstik 2.0 :)

Start Control Center,
go to :

Appearance & Themes -> Style

There will be a "Configure" button,

In the Lipstik configuration module:

In a group box called "Scrollbars and Sliders",
there is a combobox called "Slider handle size"

You can choose your preferred handle style there.

Have a nice day!

my linux is fedora 3. when I try "./confgure", it says that I need to install "kdelibs" first.
but I have install kdelibs rpm.
"rpm -q kdelibs" gives
kdelibs-3.3.1-2.9.FC3

what should I do to install this theme?

thank you very much.

I dont know Fedora much, but if it is like it was before, in older Redhat's distros, please make sure you also installed kdelibs-devel before compiling. You will also need qt-devel or something like that...

How can I have a desktop like these screenshots? (including the icons and the k-menu?)
I have installed on my mandrake 10.1 lipstik theme but I also wanted to customize the icons and the k-menu like the screenshots!
Thanks to everybody

It's the nuvola icon set (www.icon-king.com) and the lipstik style (http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=18223)
