Description:

Klear is a KDE-based TV viewer for DVB. It includes internal tuners for DVB-S, -T, and -C. It is also able to record video streams in live- and scheduled-mode as MPEG TS and MPEG PS. It shows OSD information, takes snapshots, deinterlaces the video stream, and more. You can even watch the stream timeshifted and save the video afterwards. Klear also includes a feature-rich EPG and teletext-system and has multilanguage support.

I haven't tried, but.. it's possible that in the future it will support also plain tv (v4l/v4l2) with recording functions?

The missing slot is okay, should i fix with the next release. This should only bother the hotkeys. Startup and klear should be fine. On the screenshot i looks like klear hangs on startup ? Have you tuned a channel with c/s/t-zap before (internal tuning will be added with the next release). Can you play your DVB stream with mplayer or xine ? Greetings

xine dvb://"TVE INT" (for tve in .xine/channels.conf)

but mplayer i dont now why not work with:
mplayer -cache 64 - < /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 ?

any idea ?

Klear doesn't use xine DVB, because wee need to be more flexible. At the moment, you have to tune in a channel with t/s/c-zap in another console. When t/c/s-zap is running, a "cat /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0" should deliver data. After that, also mplayer and klear should run. But klear should do the tuning with the next version ;-)

yes all is ok (szap..), and xawtv work fine,
but cat /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0,
i dont have the data ):

i have dvb card based skystar1 (with hardware mpeg decoder) !

Did you try szap -r CHANNEL for tuning ? Only with the option -r the data are passed to thr device.

We both use xine for playback and are a KDE/QT tool. But there are big differences between the projects (more details via email if you like). Btw: KaxTV doesn't work for me and no usable solution seems possible. Maybe that's one reason for it ;-)

So far ive not been successful in getting this to work. When I start the program i get this error:

Error at position: at line 62 in file App/CKlearAppTunerT.cpp and function CklearAppTunerT::startUp()
ErrorMessage: Failed opening DVB device.

It then locks up the device. I have a Hauppauge DEC2000t terrestrial box connected to computer via USB.

Suse 9.3 Pro/KDE 3.4/gcc 3.3.5/kernel 2.6.11
