 Transparency

There are a lot of visual errors. For instance when a window goes out of focus there are some areas where there's transparency and others that have none. Looks a bit weird especially in Gnome Tweak Tool.

 On purpose

Thank you for the feedback.
Inactive windows will have transparent effect, the active one will not so we can read the context easily.
Actually I did it on purpose since GNOME doesn't have manual for theming. Okay if it's disturbing (the transparency), I'll post the fixed one soon, insha-a Allah.

Unfortunately, there is no doubt that almost every latest GNOME or GTK releases broke previous version themes, including the new GNOME 3.18. Because of that, theme designers have to renew their theme code to match the latest version.
And again, unfortunately, GNOME team hasn't yet publicise theme creation tutorial.

You may replace the apple logo with your custom image easily. Just place your custom image to the theme folder (the default should be : ~/.themes/White/gnome-shell/) and rename it to 'distributor.svg' ; 'distributor-over.svg' ; and 'distributor-active.svg'.

 Icons in appmenu

 by gogi on: Oct 10 2015

First of all your theme is awesome, thanks for your work.
But I have a problem with the icon display for current app in appmenu on top-panel. Some icons don"t display correctly.
Actually, I added some copies of a few icons in /scalable/apps folder wich I renamed in xxx-symbolic.svg in order to display correctly in top-panel, but apps like Gnome-contacts, Gedit, System-Settinds and others display a pretty black icon instead of the icon they should display...
Do you have any idea?

Actually in White theme, the app-menu icon is disabled by default to match OS X interface.
To enable it, you have to change some lines in 'gnome-shell.css' in the theme folder (default should be '~/.themes/White/gnome-shell'). Look for line:

.app-menu-icon {
width: 0px;
height: 0px;}

Change it to:

.app-menu-icon {
width: 24px;
height: 24px;}

Don't know if it could solve your problem.
Thanks for your appreciation to the theme.

Yes, I already did that in order to active icon display, but as I said some icons display well while others display in low color mode... May be a conflict with gnome default configuration and default app config...
I'll send you screenshots by e-mail on your @live.com address.

Try this:
1. gedit ~/.themes/White/gnome-shell/gnome-shell.css
2. find '#appMenu {'
3. delete the line 'icon-color: black'
4. save. close gedit. restart the shell.

From the screenshots you showed, it seems like you had not download the Mine icon theme so the Mine-Yosemite weren't displayed properly. See also how to download Mine icon theme on the Mine-Yosemite description.

If those above too don't solve the problem, try to add '-st-icon-style: regular;' under the line of '.app-menu-icon'. But with this, appmenu will be displayed as regular icon and not the symbolic one.

Well I tried all that you said and the only solution to solve this was to add "-st-icon-style: regular;"...

I would like to make you some suggestions about icons : first of all in order to make them work with Iceweasel and Icedove, I had to copy and rename the respective icons to both apps in icedove.svg and iceweasel.svg.
Second, shall you change the system-file-manager icon to the MacOS "Finder" one, looks more fine in accordance with the other ones (I already did it, if you need it I can send you the svg file by mail).

To come back on the initial issue, I am looking on my side what does make the conflict, didn"t fouund yet but if I find it, I will advise you.

It'll be a pleasure.
Actually your case above doesn't appear in my system (fedora 23 beta GNOME 3.18). Maybe you could state here what system you currently use.
Thanks for your participation.
