Description:

KLibido is a graphical Usenet file grabber for KDE. It supports multiple server, multiple download threads per server, queue management, .nzb files, etc...




Changelog:

* 27/Feb/2006: version 0.2.5 Release notes:

- New option: do not automatically resize columns in headerlist (and remember columns' sizes)
- New option: Do not automatically sort by subject (and remember the selected sort column)
- New option: remember order of columns in headerlists
- NEW: Show progress for decoding
- FIX: Don't crash while canceling articles during decoding (and really cancel the article)
- FIX: Cancel of update items while updating dbs now works
- new action: move to bottom of the queue
- FIX: correctly remember "maximized" status for main Window.
- NEW: Sort by number of articles in available groups list (i.e.: when subscribing to newsgroups)
- New shortcuts in headerLists: clear filter (Ctrl + C) and jump to the filter entry box (Ctrl + F)
- New option: don't show statusbar at startup
- NEW: French translation
- NEW: Progress dialog for db migrations
- FIX: Header dates now works for localized distributions as well
- NEW: During db migration/compact, articles are checked for consistency and discarded (KLibido should not crash anymore if there are bogus articles into dbs). A log of the discarded articles is created in the db dir (default: ~/klibido/db)
- Various bugfixes (see Changelog)

I've been waiting for a KDE app that handles usenet binaries for ages.

Any chance that this can get folded into KNode? It's got several wishlist bugs asking for this functionality, 20363, 22447 etc.

Too bad.

I suggest that you make sure KLibido contains a superset of KNode functionality, so we can avoid using two newsreaders.

maybe this could integrate in kontact, but I think its good as a seperate app. downloading binarys from news sites is quite a different art compared to reading news, imho...

I am getting the following problem when trying to install KLibido:

checking uudeview.h usability... no
checking uudeview.h presence... no
checking for uudeview.h... no
configure: error: Error: uudeview.h not found!

But UUdeview is installed, as you can see here:

rpm -q uudeview
uudeview-0.5.20-4


How do I resolve this problem? I am running Fedora Core 3.

Nevermind. I resolved the problem by installing uudeview-0.5.20-0.1.fc2.dag from teh dag repository. This enabled me to install without hitting the "libuu.so.0 is needed by klibido-0.2.1.1-1.i386" error when installing klibido from the fedora core 2.3 rpm.
