 Finding the installed version?

by stanqaz on: Feb 13 2016

I'm having difficulty finding the version I have installed, for now I could use a hint on where to look.

If it would be possible could you add a version number to one of the settings screens?

You are right, there is no way determining the version. I plan to add a "debug" or "about" section in settings where debug logs can be switched on and version info will be present there, too.

 amd gpu temp?

by carthage on: Feb 28 2016

I love the widget, was just wondering if it was possible to get the temp from my amd card to show up as well? I know the page says nvidia but I was unsure of how to get amd working as I checked all the temps and they didnt match up with aticonfig --odgt. If not I also saw a post showing how to set this up with psensors(http://wpitchoune.net/blog/news_experimental-ati-monitoring-support/).
Would it be possible to do something similar with this? Thanks for your time and great work!

Hi! Sorry for my late response, I'm temporarily quite busy nowadays.

I think we can work something out. If your ATI temperatures are not available but you know the right command to fetch the temperature ("aticonfig --odgt" ?) please provide the command along with example output so I can blindly work it in the widget and give you a test version :). Thanks! And thanks for your feedback :).

I also have the same problem. Some temperature sources are "OFF" by default and a sources reload is necessary.

I don't know which update broke it (I'm on Archlinux), but it seems the bug is back :(

I'm glad I read all of these. I need this fix. I get normal temps sometimes, but I have 4 available and was just looking at them and Zone/0/Temperature is 0. 1 2 and 3 all increase with 3 being the correct value. I was wondering what the heck acpi in the acpi/Thermal_zone/x/Temperature was since I don't have a /proc/acpi.

The box said Windows Vista or better so I installed Sabayon 5...

CPU temps not loading on login

by mcloaked on: May 2 2016

I am using arch linux and plasma fully up to date. A few weeks ago I found that the widget no longer loads cpu temps on login and I have to right click the widget and get it to reload the sources. I have also updated the widget, as well as using the arch aur git version and behaviour remains the same. Is it possible to fix this problem?

Copying the latest individual files from the link provided above for the dev's page to the directory on my laptop at .local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.thermalMonitor/ fixes the widget and it now updates within a second or so of the desktop starting. However I don't know if the updated files for this widget have propagated to the plasmoid file for other places which depend on the developer's source. At this stage it looks like the arch aur version is not fully up to date.

Hi,
I use your monitor and it works pretty well.
I am using it for fan speeds also. Is there a way to disable the farenheit icon for fan speed usage?
