Hi.
I also had the same problem - to fix, run the command "kbuildsycoca" in a konsole window, then try to run ./krita again...

got it working by adding the krita dir to the $KDEDIRS path then running kbuildsycoca as discribed on http://www.valdyas.org/fading/index.cgi/hacking/krita/binary.html

 It Doesn\'t Load

It doesn't load at all. Running Fedora Core 3:

Krita Alpha Binary Release #3

Detecting wrapper location ... OK
Setting up HTML docs symlink ... OK
Adding . to KDEDIRS= ... OK

Starting Krita ...

Checking for KDE 3.x using kde-config (/usr/bin/kde-config) ... Yes
Checking for Qt 3 (Qt >= 3.0.5) ... Yes

There is no error message telling me I'm missing a required file. Any suggestion would be welcome. :)

Please, people, if you have success running this package, and if nothing works for you, mail me -- boud@rempt.xs4all.nl. I'm trying to figure out for which distributions this way of packaging stuff works, and for which distributions it doesn't.

Interesting information for me is;

gcc version
kde version
qt version
location of kde

and... whether you have followed the instructions at
http://www.valdyas.org/fading/index.cgi/hacking/krita/binary.html?

I also guess, but I'm not sure, that you need to restart KDE or run kbuildsycoca; it may depend a bit whether just running kbuildsycoca works, or not.

 Krita filters

 by IceRAM on: Jul 7 2005

I've been following development of Krita in the blogs and all I can say is congratulations.

I've seen a lot of filters porting from GIMP to Krita. I would like to know if the ported filters can also be used in Digikam.

KDE is, in fact, a synonym for desktop integration, isn't it? :)
