 Bug

There was a little bug in 0.3, the program didn't create the .kfulplayer and didn't work. If you have downloaded the 0.3, just create this directory. The O.3.1 should be OK.
The directory is .kfulplayer because when Kariboo had no name, it was kfulgrimplayer :) I'm changing this slowly.

There was also a problem with 0.3.2 package wich is now corrected. All apologize, I will write a text about why you should always test deeply what you release, even if you have done only very little things since your precedent test for my computer science teacher.... :)

 nice app

its a nice app, but well... have you ever had a look at the various audio players for kde?

noatun
kmplayer
kplayer
amarok
juk
kmp3
kscd
kmediaplayer

just to name a few...

its not that I dont want you to code (actually thats a good thing) and its not that I think there should be only 1 app for a certain purpose, but there are more than 7 audioplayers now. I whould say, can't you write plugins for amarok? or enhance juk?

or even better, make ktouch working a bit better... or enhance some of the games.

I understand. The fact is that when I begin this application, juK didn't exist, amaroK wasn't very good and I don't really like noatun (Kariboo is in fact very old, almost 2 years). Now, my choice may be different.

That's a pretty discouraging remark.

thats not what I meant... I tried to state my point as carefull as possible, but thats difficult. I think choice is good, but to a certain extend. maybe the author of this app might think about adding the great things in kariboo to eg juk or amarok, or copy code from them in kariboo - anyway, he's duplicating alot of work which has already been done a few times. Of course he has every right to do so, but I'd rather see him working on something new instead of doing the same thing again...

allthough I think the way you put it is a bit discouraging, I think in some way you are right.
One of the major problems in kde (compared to for example gnome) is that there is no music player nor a video player that really does the trick.

kmplayer is the most complete when it comes to formats, but its UI is horrible (simple) and there is no medai management
noatun is full of features, but lacks support for extensive media management.
xine is quite unstable, according to the amount of bugreports.
Juk is simple, effective and nice, but lacks support for webradio, it has no plugins for output and input etcetc.

So I think you should have said: why not help one of the existing project become more stable by merging your ideas (wich are very promising and goodliooking, BTW) into one of these projects?

I have yet answered. Juk and Amarok didn't exist when I start writing Kariboo, and I didn't know KDE programming at this moment. It's difficult to abandon your work when other soft are created. I should have released Kariboo earlier (almost no developement on it since 4 months, for personnal reason).

hey, you are right. I understand its hard to leave all this work behind. bug maybe you can use it, and at least - it was fun, and a learning experience. you won't lose that... Listen, if it wasnt the fact I've heard quite a few windows people look at amarok and say "hey, what a damn cool app is this, can I have it on windows" I would not bother you. but this seems to be an app people like so much, they might even considder switching to linux for it. shouldn't all forces then be behind amarok? :D

ps and sorry for me being rude, I didn't want to be so hard on you. its great you wrote this code, for others to use... much worse things are done to computer users >:-(
