How do you install this...? It says run the script - but I can't get it to run. i've tried clicking on it, i've tried running it from the shell, and in desperatiuon i've tried manually typing each line into a terminal window.

Could anyone tell me how? I really would like this theme....

The instructions need to be more detailed so those of us just getting started with linux won't have such a learning curve.

./style-install.sh

I dicovered this would run the script by looking at other theme "readme" files. It still suxs though cause the theme does not show up in my "look & feel" manager for themes. Maybe one of these days someone will cast a perl of wisdom my way regarding proper installation proceedures for kde v3.0 themes.

signed, frustrated

I haven't tried this yet but I think as well as downloading the compressed file from this site, you also have to download some files from the site linked to at the top of this page. Mainly the .ktheme file!

Maybe it might work then, i'm trying it now.

Thanks,
Nick!

I'm new to Linux. You said to "type this". Where in the heck do you type it at. I see this all the time but a newbie to Linux needs a little more info. Thanks.

I like the style, but it has a problem. It's very slow, especially when scrolling in konqueror, on pages with lots of tables. So, back to keramik for me.

 Not Even

In my opinion, the Windows XP interface is the ugliest I've seen in years. Even CDE looks better. Why in the world would you want to copy it? The window top bar & buttons are huge and looks like something from a cartoon. The panel is a big blob of blue. Most windows machines have a million icons on the desktop obscuring any reason for having wallpaper. How about something totally original instead of copying something else.

Ya, someone told me it reminds them of Peewee's playhouse. Whenever i get on an XP machine i always change the look back to the classic look, but it NEVER changes the start menu back to the original look and it confuses me. LINUX AND KDE ALL THE WAY!

I have no problem either. I think its extremely nice and the author has done a good job. Its nice, bright, clean, responsive and friendly. It is however the only thing worth ripping off the XP system. Linux is definitely my fav OS by along shot but XP and OSX are way ahead in terms of desktop design. I recently switched from Ximian Gnome to KDE3 and I am really GLAD!. KDE3 is becoming a really pleasent place to work in.

The buttons are huge, the colors are distracting, its slow as hell, and it was originally created by Microshaft, who are market-sucking corpoerate vampires who can't make a working piece of software and charges too much for too little, and monopolizes the market by copying everyone else. They DIDNT come up with graphical user interfaces, Xerox did, which Apple bought the rights to, and Microshaft stole that.
