Description:

VLSub is not working with Vlc 2.1.x, please update to 2.2.

Search and download subtitles from opensubtitles.org using the hash of the video currently playing or its title.
INSTALLATION:
- click on the download button below
- save the archive and extract the file "vlsub.lua"
- create a directory "extensions" at this location and put the file "vlsub.lua" inside:
* Windows (all users): %ProgramFiles%\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\extensions\
* Windows (current user): %APPDATA%\vlc\lua\extensions\
* Linux (all users): /usr/lib/vlc/lua/extensions/
* Linux (current user): ~/.local/share/vlc/lua/extensions/
* Mac OS X (all users): /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/share/lua/extensions/
* Mac OS X (current user): /Users/%your_name%/Library/Application Support/org.videolan.vlc/lua/extensions/

...or use the installer below if you're on Windows 7 (32 or 64)

To start the extension click on View > VLSub or Vlc > Extensions > VLSub on Mac OS.

Here is the message:
File reading failed
VLC could not open the file "//file:///Users/Home/Movies/FILME/Eyes%20Wide%20Shut%20%281999%29%20%5B1080p%5D/Eyes.Wide.Shut.1999.1080p.BluRay.x264.YIFY.srt" (No such file or directory).

And next one:
Your input can't be opened
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:////file%3A///Users/Home/Movies/FILME/Eyes%2520Wide%2520Shut%2520%25281999%2529%2520%255B1080p%255D/Eyes.Wide.Shut.1999.1080p.BluRay.x264.YIFY.srt'. Check the log for details.

Try to get the script from here:

If not it doesn't work it's probably a bug of Vlc.

Noo, I was downloading and using the first update of 0.9.11 and was ok after that someone was asking to modify to get like a progress bar ( green) for searching by hash and only with this version with the progress bar remain-remain and not show any results for subtitles.Plus extension Not Responding window appear and remain blocked.
Maybe I am not doing properly the log to upload and that why is not showing any error.Sorry for that

Ok I revert all this modifications until I figure what's wrong. Reinstall the script you should be fine. At line 1557 , replace:
-- load subtitles
if add_sub(subfileURI) then

with:
-- load subtitles
if add_sub(target) then

I just installed this extension. When I press VLsub 0.9.11 under view nothing happens. Can anybody help?

Use the vlc console to get the error log:
- restart Vlc
- click Tools > message (Or ctrl+M)
- set verbosity level to 2
- try to lauch the extension again
- copy everything in the console with ctrl+a
- paste it on pastebin
- post the url of your pastebin here and mention you operation system and vlc version
