Description:

VLSub is not working with Vlc 2.1.x, please update to 2.2.

Search and download subtitles from opensubtitles.org using the hash of the video currently playing or its title.
INSTALLATION:
- click on the download button below
- save the archive and extract the file "vlsub.lua"
- create a directory "extensions" at this location and put the file "vlsub.lua" inside:
* Windows (all users): %ProgramFiles%\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\extensions\
* Windows (current user): %APPDATA%\vlc\lua\extensions\
* Linux (all users): /usr/lib/vlc/lua/extensions/
* Linux (current user): ~/.local/share/vlc/lua/extensions/
* Mac OS X (all users): /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/share/lua/extensions/
* Mac OS X (current user): /Users/%your_name%/Library/Application Support/org.videolan.vlc/lua/extensions/

...or use the installer below if you're on Windows 7 (32 or 64)

To start the extension click on View > VLSub or Vlc > Extensions > VLSub on Mac OS.

 Error downloading subtitles for large files

VLSub works perfectly when I download subs for small files, like tv shows, but whenever I try to get the subs for a larger one, like a movie or a documental, I get the same error:

I'm using VLC 2.0.8 (64 bits) and VLSub 0.9.10 on Windows 7 64bit.

Hi there
I'm very new to all this code... but can anyone please explain in very simple terms how I can use VL Sub to watch the sub titles for Le Passe that I've got on DVD. I've managed to test that I can watch subtitles for another film that I've got on my C drive.

Please see log below if this makes any sense.

Hi,

So I've downloaded VLC 2.1.1 and after installation saw VLSub already in extensions submenu. I navigated to extensions and found vlsub.luac file there. The extension launches only when there's no movie opened. With movie both preinstalled VLSub and downloaded manually don't appear at all.

I suppose this extension work only with 2.0.x?

Also, there is no library in user's folder.
