In the best tradition Windows 98. I do not like such themes

If you don't like it, don't use it. This theme is designed for people who like retro style user interfaces. I can understand that some people won't like it, but I ask you to understand that there are people who do prefer Windows 98 style.

I agree, if you don't like it, then don't use it. If you're not using it then don't waste time with negative comments. I think this theme looks good for its purpose.

This looks nothing like Windows 98.

I would just like to add, if you're a Gnome2/3 user, you should read the readme file. The readme file is included in the tarball.

This theme is very cool. I would like to see other variations of this theme, maybe blue. I like it.

Greetings!

 Site bug

by dusthillresident on: Nov 14 2011

I think I found a bug in the site. I just tried to upload some new screenshots, but no matter what I did, the first and second screenshots wouldn't change. I tried uploading a new screenshot using the 'change' button, but the image stayed the same. Then I tried clicking 'delete' and uploading the new images, but after uploading the old images came back. I eventually just uploaded one of the new screenshots to the screenshot 3 slot which was empty.

Anyway, thanks everyone for your interest.

Oh, strange. Now the old image is gone and has been replaced with the new image. I guess there wasn't a problem after all.

Don't worry, it takes time for the site to update. I have noticed similar issues.

Does it support gnome fallback mode?

I haven't downloaded your theme yet but it does look nice. And I second the idea of a blue variation (deep blue hopefully).

Thanks for your creation.

Later...

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

At the moment, I don't know if it supports fallback mode, since I use XFCE myself. You could try it and see, but it's likely that things won't look entirely right.

At some point I'm going to install Gnome 3 on one of my computers so I can test the theme with it, and hopefully fix any problems.

This truly is a pretty one of a kind theme. It brings the Old Fashioned Look and feel back to GTK3 (I'm not aware of any current themes that do that.)

I'm not the hugest fan of purple or the window borders/buttons but other then that it looks pretty unique.

I'd be interested in your thought about bringing perhaps Grey , Red and Blue?

I could see this as a openbox pro-users theme :)

Seems like you put alot of hard work put into it, Great job.

I just saw the 2 other comments saying doing Blue would be cool! Haha :)

Also what about the slackware n-curses setup "teal"?
Or FreeBSD Setup "Grey"

Really fun theme. I might mess around with a few color variants and send them your way if they turn out.

Thanks for your comments. Yeah, I think it'd be great to make different coloured versions of the theme. I think I started trying to make a blue version, but I ran into some issues and gave up. At some point I'll have another go at it. I'll be interested in seeing any modified versions of the theme you come up with.
