yeah it's possible the laptop's only smaller screen to let it slightly changed in the gnome-shell.css

Searching (IE: Windows/Super Key --> Typing application name ) causes gnome-shell to use 100% CPU power on a quad core system. Screen locks while mouse is able to move but nothing can be clicked. Killing the X-Server and logging back in will show 2 gnome-shell running, one being at 100% CPU.

Switching back to Adwaita resolves the problem
Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64

There are two versions one for the older GS and companion for the newer GS for me it runs perfectly fine on several PC .......
.................... bug will probably somewhere with you .. sometimes it is well reinstall ubuntu 11.10 on the last daily build ...

What's your version GnomeShell?
jake and are using the theme icons?

gnome-shell --version
GNOME Shell 3.2.0

I am using the theme labeled new. Like I said, reverting to default themes fixes the problem. IMO its pretty evident the problems lies with the theme and not the system.

Just for kicks, I installed Ubuntu 11.10 in a VM and used this theme with gnome-shell, same result, locks up on search. Switching back to default fixes the problem.

masses only problem with this theme or themes at all out of default?

occurred to me yet what the masses and what kind of graphics card driver?

I do not understand and nobody complained about me and my friends it works without problems ...

I passed through the source code and there is not an error: (

I am using an nVidida GTX 260m card, with the newest available proprietary drivers. This theme had worked, (the searching function that is) then stopped working.

I have only tried 2 other themes besides this one (and the default), the other 2 themes were not an issue.

I might just be unlucky, or possibly changed something I dont remember (it happens more often than not)

I've been thinking
Delete it and download new theme ......

BleachBit and then install according to tick all these screens and fried and the root

Copy then there's the theme malys

Thanks for the suggestion, I believe the software is a bit redundant.

I'm confident a 'sudo apt-get remove --purge' would do the trick, and 'sudo rm -rf' for anything left over.

I'll play around with some things and get back, I really do enjoy this theme (despite my situation).

 Issue using this theme (Ubuntu 11.10)

When I enable this theme, I see a ghosted menu bar appear underneath the top menu bar.

FILE > EDIT > VIEW > GO > BOOKMARKS > HELP

To make this go away, I need to disable:

Enable file manager to handle desktop (in Gnome-Tweak-Tool)

Disabling this function however removes some functionality and right click on the desktop.

Please assist. Thank you in advance for your time.

Various Gnome package updates have resolved this issue. Thanks for the heads up. One additional thing I've noticed though...

When I login for the first time, there appears a blank icon "surround" next to the Gnome foot icon at the top left of the screen.

After starting and closing any application it disappears.

Does this happen to anyone else? Thanks in advance.

I tried downloading the new version of your theme but the download took me to a foreign download site, Chrome translated it fine but when the countdown was done the file never downloaded and there is no button to click to download it. Too bad, I was excited about this theme. Please upload directly to gnome-look.org or other site like deviant-art
