if you don't like this addon you don't have to use it. no need to insult the developer.
why don't you go and program your own subtitles downloader.

dumb-ass

I have nothing to do with the site, so I can't do anything.

About the possibility to save the subtitles, I have intention to add it; however the main purpose of the script is still to search and load in VLC.

I've already added the "download" feature in my mod of this script.. you can find it here: http://thepanz.netsons.org/post/vlc-and-opensubtitles-downloader

I think that we should merge our code! :)
Cheers

Wow, great. The original one was not working for me (actually the url - http://oensubtitles.com is appended twice), but this one not only work perfectly but the download feature is great boon.

It works great in Windows; also, it works in Linux/Ubuntu, except that it it lacks this new feature to save the file.

a version of the script that makes it able to save subtitles in linux is to be found as text here (http://pastebin.com/HqLncjdc); and may be downloaded as .lua here (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B35PbjeIaccqcEF2ZlhEY2FuRHM/edit). solution privided by askubuntu user here (http://askubuntu.com/a/267726/47206)

a newly ajusted version that saves files and does not require a second click to download, but for the moment does not work in Linux is here: http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=71535&p=370875#p370875. (i have uploaded as .lua here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B35PbjeIaccqWVQ3UW5LekoyYUE/edit?usp=sharing)

Can anybody tel me why i see only a long page of text when i press download ?....it shouldn't be a program ?

I say to that this is a useful add-on. It would spare me a lot of time finding lyrics that i don't understand when i'm listening songs.

Sorry for the confusion...i messed up the lyrics extension with the subtitles extension, although i encounter same problem with both extension. A long text page instead of the program.
