Hello,

thank you. You are using the MPlayerWidget as the MediaBackend, right ?

I found an issue with the quering of the values for audio and fixed it.

Adding an audio file is now instantanously.

 big orange block

by BorgQueen on: Feb 5 2007

Hi,
I have to say I love qdvdauthor, I just start using it. So far I like it the best.
I do have 2 problems.
First if I don't pre convert an mpg to mpg dvd using Dan MacDonald's servicemenu. The audio is way off. If I pre-convert it, it works great!
Perhaps the two of you can work something out? http://www.kde-apps.org/usermanager/search.php?username=danboid
The next problem is that I have orange blocks were I should have a menu item. For example if I create simple text button, that says "Play", it shows up as an orange block. The text is only visible a few secs after I hit play.

Am I doing something wrong?

I'd also like to volunteer to help you write a complete manual for it. This app is very promising, but difficult at times.

Hey,

thank you again for your help. The fix is in CVS and as soon as SourceForge's shell access is up again I'll update the progress page.

Also I am pushing for the first release candidate which I want to release the coming week.

 Looks great but

I've recently migrated from M$ and was looking around for something similar to GFD. QDVDA looks to be just what I need but ... I can't get it to output :-(

I've gone through the quickstart guide I don't know how many times, trying different things, but when I hit the DVD button, get the same result each time - blank in every command line.

However, when I look at the XML output, it looks fine. I suppose I could export the XML and use it to run DVD Author via the CLI, but would prefer to get this neat-looking GUI to work properly if I can.

My installation is openSuse 10.2 x86_64.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Hey, you have the same distro I am using.

In general you can send me the file created through [ Tools -> Feedback ... ]

However for this problem you should be fine simply deleting
$HOME/.qdvdauthor/qdvdauthor.ini

Let me know how it stacks up against GFD. I saw the program on VideoHelp and it seems as powerful as QDVDAuthor.

It works!

Thanks for the speedy and effective response. I'll give it a proper try-out over the weekend and get some feedback to you.

Hi,

Problem encoding sound:

lame --quiet --decode "/tmp/01.mp3" - | mp2enc -b 224000 -r 48000 -o "/mnt/3/tmp/01.mp2"

INFO: [mp2enc] Opened WAV file, freq = 44100 Hz, channels = 2, bits = 16
INFO: [mp2enc] format = 0x1, audio length = 2147483647 bytes
**ERROR: [mp2enc] Bitrate of 224000 KBit/s not allowed!

The solution:

lame --quiet --decode "/tmp/01.mp3" - | mp2enc -b 224 -r 48000 -o "/mnt/3/tmp/01.mp2"

Sorry my english...I am from Brazil.

 Good Job

Kudos to you on a potentially wonderful application. I'm generating a test DVD with it right now. However, my one gripe is with your extensive use of custom colors in the interface. I think the app would be much more aesthetically pleasing without all of the funky background colors in the dialogs. Aside from that, your app is functionally pretty good. Keep up the great work!
