 it doesn't work after restart

by drmanu on: Apr 14 2011

first of all, thanks for putting that nice plamoid out there :)
The thing is for me it only works right after adding the plasmoid. If I reboot, the plasmoid doesn't seem to be able to retrieve the data from google tasks anymore. If I remove the plasmoid and add it again, it works correctly again...Am I the only one with this issue (or the only one using the plasmoid :) )? I'm using KDE 4.4.5.

Greetings!!

Thanks for the detailed problem description. That helped me find and workaround it. I think it might happen due to a Qt bug. Can you try the new version I just uploaded?

It would be great if this could be added as an icon in panel ;)

 Works great

I followed your instructions in the comments and it worked great. I had to login from Konqueror and save the cookies first, then used command line to install the Google Tasks plasmoid. All I had to do after that was drag and drop the widget to the desktop.

It would be really helpful to others if you could add the instructions in the description.

I would like to see a thin border maybe, just to tie it in the Plasma themes of KDE. I also wish it had the toggle feature of the browser plasmoid widget so I can hide and view the Google Tasks right from the KDE panel.

Thanks for this nice widget!

It now turns into an icon in panel. The popup features a themed border as well.

 Reload

Hi again,

some more constructive criticism :)

If when I start the desktoop there is no network, the plasmoid won't show anything, of course...but it won't show anything ever after (that meaning, not even if I get connected to internet after a minute). It would be nice if it reloaded itself every now and then (this probably comes handy in all kinds of mobile devices).

Greetings!!

Hi,

I tried adding the new version of the plasmoid...and now it's so big that it takes up my entire screen :D So, for me it's not usable right now :( I tried scaling it down but it cannot be scaled down to the size it used to be.

Greetings!!

Sorry about that. I could verify that the panel and network fixes do not work in KDE 4.4.5. That Plasma-Desktop version is very buggy. I suggest to upgrade KDE.

A workaround:
Create a launcher for `plasmoidviewer org.orbitalibre.google-tasks` and put it in the panel.

 Add to System Tray feature

Can you add the ability for this plasmoid to be included in System Tray?

So far this plasmoid is amazing and something I've always looked for. Thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks :)
How could I forget this feature? It's a one-liner change and it does not even involve code. Check v1.3.
