Description:

Oxygen-Gtk is a port of the default KDE widget theme (Oxygen), to gtk.

Its primary goal is to ensure visual consistency between gtk and qt-based applications running under kde. A secondary objective is to also have a stand-alone nice looking gtk theme that would behave well on other Desktop Environments.

Unlike other attempts made to port the kde oxygen theme to gtk, this attempt does not depend on Qt (via some Qt to Gtk conversion engine), nor does render the widget appearance via hard coded pixmaps, which otherwise breaks everytime some setting is changed in kde.

We plan to follow the same release schedule as KDE:
- one minor bug-fixing release every month;
- one major feature release every six month.

These releases where not announced becaues a bug sneaked in just before release that was causing libreoffice to crash and was also affecting the gtk3 version.

Bugfixes include
- serious crash in many application like eclipse, libreoffice and other, when mouse-over toolbars and menus.
- rendering issues with gtk3 applications especially under gnome-shell

Also: we added an "information" tab to both oxygen-gtk-demo and oxygen-gtk3-demo to provide software versions.

oxygen-gtk3 - version 1.3.1
Emergency bugfix release due to a crash condition that sneaked in the gtk3-1.3.0 release

oxygen-gtk3 - version 1.3.0
New feature release.
No real feature added, except support for the (heavily changed) gtk3-3.10 version. New widgets have been added, and quite some method calls have been deprecated.
We cannot guarantee that this version with work with older releases of gtk3.

oxygen-gtk2 - version 1.4.1
oxygen-gtk3 - version 1.2.1
New bug fix release.
For gtk2:
- mark zotero as XUL application
- fix some antialias issue on sliders

For gtk3:
- some improvement on inner-shadows
- some extra checks on widgets validity to prevent runtime warnings
- some rendering improvements for instance regarding scrollbars and textviews

oxygen-gtk2 - version 1.4.0
oxygen-gtk3 - version 1.2.0
New feature release of oxygen-gtk2 and oxygen-gtk3. These releases can be compiled and used on non-linux platform (e.g. Windows(r)), and, for the gtk3 version, can run on non X11 backend (e.g. Broadway).
They also include the usual amount of minor bugfixes.

It's not oxygen-gtk issue, sorry for misleading :(

I removed oxygen-gtk (as I installed it with checkinstall) and this issue is still present

I'll investigate further what could be cause

Hmm, I'd really like to know what the reason is, because it might help condense combobox popup entries to match oxygen-qt :)

Though it doesn't help in reducing separator, but does for extending.

 Proper Window Border?

Don't know about others, but default Ubuntu Ambience window border looks dirty on this theme

I spent hours looking for window decoration match but none found

Now I use Equinox Evolution Dusk window border, but still not satisfied

I wish some designer make proper window borders for this piece of art

Yeah, as Hugo says, you can use KWin. Another option is to use XFWM and check out this (will require patching XFWM): http://xfce-look.org/content/show.php?content=123744 . Buttons are a bit outdated here (i.e. don't have the new glow of KDE4.8), but it still does match oxygen widget style.

That probably looks fine

I don't understand why there is no *decent* gtk port to kde window decoration. Everything I checked is lame

It doesn't stop me from enjoying this work, thou, but it would round it as perfect

I agree with that.
I used GOTCHIONE decoration with oxygen-gtk when I used Gnome-desktop, and I didn't like those window controls so I replaced them with Oxygen-ones:

It looks nice. It's similar to kde42 theme I tried, but slightly better :)
I reduced borders to minimum - 2:

Also some I tried add fat border around GUI windows which makes them unusable IMHO

 Disable gradient for specified application

Some applications look like patchworked because of oxygen-gtk gradient (which BTW is superb) and I would appreciate if there is a way to disable gradient

i.e. SciTE has "strip" find/replace dialog which pops at bottom, and inputbox part is colored as statusbar (which is darker then menu or toolbar) but has toolbar icons on right side with background that is lighter (as regular toolbar) so it doesn't look good

Also Meld (file compare tool) doesn't look good because of this gradient.

I can provide screen-shots if my explanation is not clear

Hugo, I found some issues I would like to address, but the link you provided for bugs/problems is kde home page. Is there some proper place to report issues?

Namely, I have issues with tabs misbehaviour in certain situations and problem with context menu roll (context menu when there are lot of choices and there up and down browse arrows)

nope. Its on "long term" todo list.
Requires quite some work and a lot of blacklisting of applications that would crash when trying to use it.

And will never work for say
- firefox and co
- libreoffice
- opera
- etc.

Is there some way to reduce menu spacing? GTK based programs using oxygen-gtk have menu items spaced with lot's of empty area, in comparison to Qt ones. Is it configurable in some way, or it's hardcoded in the theme?
