i like your work, thanks

any idea how to change the apple icon on taskbar to ubuntu icon?
if not possible, can make it selectable for next update, say like during install or after install by using script?
i like the mac theme but prefer to keep ubuntu identity :P

also, the home folder icon on docking seems not working if no nautilus window opened in the background.
any fix on this?

sorry asking to much
thanks

Here is a package with a few logos:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/macbuntu/files/macbuntu-10.04/v2.1/distributor-logo.tar.gz/download

Download, unpack and follow the instructions ;)

Terminal:

$ wget https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/macbuntu/macbuntu-10.04/v2.1/distributor-logo.tar.gz -O /tmp/distributor-logo.tar.gz && tar xzvf /tmp/distributor-logo.tar.gz -C /tmp && cd /tmp/distributor-logo/ && ./install.sh

I'll add them to the new version

Concerning Docky, it seems to me that this is a problem with autostart. After Docky restart, it works fine.
Unfortunately, without the logs analysis is impossible.

Docky works great, but I want to come close Mac OS X as possible and I it has the possibility to do this http://origin.arstechnica.com/reviews/os/mac-os-x-10-5.media/dock-stack.jpg and http://superapple.cz/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/mac_os_x_leopard_stacks.jpg. Or am I wrong?

Is it possible that in grub it says Mac OS X instead of Ubuntu.

I think, the Cairo-Dock is closest to the Mac, but unfortunately I do not have a good opinion about. Cairo-Dock is complicated and difficult to configure, but if I make same configuration for few different units, the Cairo-Dock will be included as an alternative.

The second case requires a modification of grub.cfg (/boot/grub/grub.cfg)
Open the file:
sudo gedit /boot/grub/grub.cfg
search for lines starting from the "menuentry 'Ubuntu", change the name of the system which is located between the ' characters.
At the end run this command:
sudo update-grub

Great script! Anything you need about bash or anything else you can count on me.

PD: I have some issue, i don't know if in my special case, or a bug generalized, when i aplied the script, the other animations, stop working, only magic lamp in minimize, the other actions just do nothing, in any effect.

If someone know anything about this, plz tell.

 broken

This theme totally broke my system, everything looked like it was running nicely until I noticed I lost my background effects; they were turned off for some reason, so I turned them back on. then the screen went all haywire I couldn't see/do anything so I decided to try to reboot, now I cannot get past the splash screen right b4 the login page. the login page is all black. how can I uninstall this theme from either the safe mode kernel prompt or using a live cd?

BTW I'm using ATI graphics and AMD processor which may not have been compatible with the theme

Thanks

Wow, very strange.
After system startup, get the terminal view using Ctrl+Alt+F4 (Ctrl+Alt+F7 returns to X). Login to the acount you installed Macbuntu and uninstall the theme:

cd ~/.macbuntu/10.04-2.1/ && ./uninstall.sh

If the above command returns an error type this:

wget https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/macbuntu/macbuntu-10.04/v2.1/Macbuntu-10.04.tar.gz -O /tmp/Macbuntu-10.04.tar.gz && tar xzvf /tmp/Macbuntu-10.04.tar.gz -C /tmp && cd /tmp/Macbuntu-10.04/ && ./uninstall.sh

After all, restart your system.
Let me know if everything is working or not.

OK, I've tried to do that but when accessing the terminal all it does is scroll something over and over non stop such as:
[ 430.741471] ath5k phy0: gain calibration timeout (2462MHz)

and noise floor calibration timeout

the numbers keep changing and scrolling, the error above is not accurate due to the scrolling. Maybe you know what this means? or possibly how to break it from doing that check, it's been 10 minutes now and just constantly scrolling with 5 second pauses between each 100'th number set.

Try Control+C, I think this is only log from the system. Did you try to install a recent kernel update and it fails? Try update the system first. Startup in recovery mode (from Grub menu), login as root and update the system:

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

No, it's not letting me do anything with that scrolling. I pretty much figure this is a lost cause so I'm reinstalling 10.04 right now. I wish I knew what happened in case something like this ever happens again. The only thing I can figure is something was not compatible with my system and the theme. I was running the mac4lin theme and that worked perfectly, though it did not change the toolbar menu just changed the Ubuntu icon to an apple, maybe that's where things went wrong.

Anyhow this theme looked great up until the crash and thank you for trying to help me out.I may give it another try when my fresh install is finished to see if there is any difference. this time I'll try the 10.04-2.1 package. I believe the one I installed was just 10.04.

By the way on this pages screenshot it shows a toolbar with several pulldowns (file, edit, view, etc..), when I installed that I only had one pull down, how would we be able to set up the other pull downs?

Thanks again

Global Menu applet displays a menu of active window. On the screenshot you see desktop (Nautilus) menu.

If the grub menu is hidden, press SHIFT key during the boot process, the menu will be displayed
