 Where is the package?

by snowhog on: Nov 13 2010

When I click on Download, a text file is opened - a settings file. That's it.

It takes less time to take the time to do it right the first time, than it does to fix it the second time.

The text file was the package. I did not realise it automatically opened text files and have re-uploaded in .tar.gz format. Should fix it. Just seemed silly for a 3k file or I would have done it to begin with.

Thank you. I've installed both, the Dark-Transluscent Plasma Desktop Theme and Windows Decorator. Where is this single file supposed to go??

Kubuntu Maverick 10.10 running KDE 4.5.3.

You import the file in QtCurve configuration dialog, which can be found under system-settings/application appearance.

Hope you enjoy the theme.

Hey, thanks for the feedback, from the look of the screen capture you have the Aurorae theme in a folder that is named differently than the theme expects. Check ~/.kde4/share/apps/aurorae/themes/

Correct syntax for the window decoration folder is "darktranslucent" (one word, lowercase, no hyphen).

Please let me know if this helps. Also did you install it through the GUI tools or did you do it manually? Shame if this happened to you automatically.

Hi,

Thanks for the tips! i stupidly changed the directory tu name it after what you proposed, i didn't even checked if the anomaly was still there before the change!

I did not restart my X server but everything is very fine now, thanx again for your work.

Everything is installed / imported etc.

So my problem isn't theme related at all.

Desktop effects are enabled as is Translucency, yet some 'process' keeps disabling desktop effects.

When attempting to re-enable desktop effects I get this message through via 'notification'.

"Desktop effects have been suspended by another application. You can resume using the 'Alt+Shift+F12' shortcut.

This happens each time I attempt to re-enable desktop effects.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be?

My system is relatively new, (3 months old) so it's not that the hardware is dodgy or underpowered.

Cheers.
