************************************************

ANewStart suite is a slick, clear theme for GNOME desktop environment.
It's designed to work under Gnome-Shell, Gnome-Fallback and Unity. For Unity and Gnome-Fallback mode, please read the README file inside the pack.

This themes comes also with: AWN Theme, CoverGloobus Theme, Conky files, Firefox Startpage (a modified version of http://folter-x.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2nrzo1),Gnome-panel (and AWN) background images. Unfortunately, since 1.3 version these themes are not fully supported, since for compatibility reasons with GNOME3 they became quite useless or unusable.

Other informations:

* Icon Theme: http://alecive.deviantart.com/art/AwOken-1-9-163570862, colored with 99/15/00 color combination

* Wallpapers: http://theoats.deviantart.com/art/Frozen-148293611 and http://xhoop.deviantart.com/art/Cold-Wallpaper-271689860

* IDEA: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/161401583/

Changelog:

Version 1.3 (09-12-11)

* Added GTK3 and Gnome-Shell Theme

* Added Unity support; there is also a "Unity tweak" folder with images you can use to beautify your Unity experience (simple instructions are in the README pdf file).

* Revision of the Metacity theme (no rounded corner in fullscreen mode, edges removal in full-screen mode, revision of minor stuff)

* Revision of the GTK2 theme (now it's slick and more integrated with the overall look&feel)

* All old files and customizations (AWN, CoverGloobus, Conky, etc) are now in "OLD" folder

Version 1.2 (13-03-11)

* Added installation script to easily install and configure conky files, fonts and GTK theme

* Added coverGloobus theme (a porting from Samurize theme by bernardinho)

* Refresh of the GTK theme, now more clear and with a lot of improvements!

* Updated Conky files: conky no more use hidden launchers, but adesk script by ADcomp, so simply clicking in one of those three windows, will popup another window with further informations (weather forecast, cpu load, to-do list), that automatically fades out in 10 seconds)

* Updated README file with all the necessary to install this theme

* Added "Font" folder to provide all fonts required for this theme

* Updated AWN Theme

Version 1.1

* Uploaded AWN Theme with different background images to meet all resolutions

* GTK Theme: solved the issue with dropdown menu (as in the top-right part of nautilus window) - thanks to viniciuszeratul!

* Panel background images: added 2560, 1920, 1366 panel background images

I really love you theme, I use it on my two computers, one running Ubuntu 11.10 and one has Ubuntu 10.10. I look at your screenshot you posted here and really need the icon set in that pics. I already installed the AwOken icon set but not include this icon color. Plz show me how I got it :D. Thanks so much aleciv! :D

It's in the description: you need to colorize the icons with 99/15/00 color combination. If you don't know how to do it, simply read the installation and instructions file that comes with awoken icon set.

 Problems in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit and applied this theme but the sources are not visible because of their color. It worked perfectly in Ubuntu 11.10 :( Can something be done?
Thank you!

Unfortunately, I have to update it for ubuntu 12.04, so wait a bit until I do this! In the meanwhile, these next two days I'll upload the porting of GrayRevenge for GNOME 3.4/Ubuntu 12.04. If you want, give it a try! :)

I'm really looking forward to an update of A New Start for GNOME 3.4. A New Start was by far my most-used GTK3 theme until I updated to Ubuntu 12.04 a few days ago.

 colours are weird...?

Hi,

I just wanted to say your theme is awesome. I've just got one problem: I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 with Unity and the theme has made the text (username, date) and icons on the top panel weird - the text is dark gray when it should be white and the icons have a weird kind of shadow or outline. I've seen the same thing when I've used other themes (such as Radiance which is included in the default install).I've tried to fix it by going into the theme file and changing HTML colour codes in some of the scripts but it doesn't seem to have worked yet and I'm scared of borking it. Any way to change the colours? Thanks in advance :)

 Nice, with a few problems

 by Ziris on: Aug 6 2012

I'm really liking this theme (looks fantastic, like the color schemes). However, there's one major problem I'm having, and that's with font color. When I switch the GTK+ theme to ANewStart, the font becomes white on white in most things (quite unreadable). I'm on Gnome 3.4 in OpenSuse. I'm not sure if I'm simply missing something or what. If I am, could you point me in the right direction?

Something else (more of an annoyance than anything) is the grouping of the icons in the applications menu is really scrunched together. I personally would like to see them a little more spread out. Other than that, it's looking good! Keep up the good work!

Problem is that this theme isn't updated for 3.4 yet. I will directly to 3.6 version, so stay tuned with next gnome release since I will release the update in a week or two! :)
