 Shotwell and GoldenDict

 by erick2red on: Jul 28 2010

Score 50%

Hi, i kinda fell in love with the theme, there's just two things don't working.
two apps: Shotwell and Goldendict, goldendict is from kde, is harder to manage, ok no worry can live without, but Shotwell, the default photo manager in Ubuntu ? i can't see the events lists, and the tags lists either.
Can that be fixed ?

Yeah, i can provide screenshots.
http://a.imageshack.us/img231/104/screenshot1nd.png and http://a.imageshack.us/img295/8803/screenshot2f.png

You may see in both shots you can't view the tags or the events if you're not selecting them.

hope it helps.

I've checked the problem with Shotwell and it looks like a program's bug. The program just don't use the GTK color for the sidebar, you can check this, just try different GTK themes and you will see that program uses the same light gray color with any Gtk theme. So I think, that the best resolution for this problem is to make a bug report to Shotwell's developers.

 Firefox Fix

by mugsmac on: Jul 29 2010

Score 50%

I'm happy to see there is a fix for the dark Firefox text box problem, and that the active tab is now more obvious. I even got my home button back after the fix with a quick edit.

Firefox is looking better but there is still a needed tweak. After the 'fix' files were added, my Google homepage is displaying some text on the top of the page in non-roman characters. They look Cyrillic but I'm not sure what they are. It is the navigation text at the top of the page, ie. news, images, logout, etc.

While I'm here I'll add that a PPA for this would be great, so that we don't need to come here for the latest and greatest.

A boot screen would also be a nice touch.

Good work!

Ok, This is not a Cyrillic, and i don't even know what it is. Anyway there isn't anything in userChrome.ccs or userContent.css that can make such effect.
Let's try to remove userChrome.ccs and userContent.css, and let me know, if this will help you.

You're right. It was fixed by resetting Firefox to Canadian English. It was an odd bug though. I appeared right after I used your .css mods and it only affected my Google homepage (as far as I can tell).

 white GTK color

I've installed this theme and I'm loving it. But, I haven't able to get the dark GTK (black or brown) window color for this theme. Only bluish white color which causes other icons and links barely visible. Could you please let me know how I can change the color of GTK for this theme?

The 3rd entry of installation instructions:
3. Run the command "make 'name of your distro'"(e.g. "make ubuntu"),
run "make help" to see the available variants.

So in your case, you should run "make mint"

You should understand that from last version I made a lot of changes to make it possible making a system-wide installation and creating the packages. So now the script works not in the way, it worked before. That's why i wrote that this version is incompatible with old versions.
