 Cursor

Ok, cursor looking great but the mouse cursor doesn't seem to be the same in different windows. Sometimes i get a normal white cursor, and in some windows (ex. pidgin) i get a black cursor. Why is that?

1. Run this command:
sudo sed -i -e 's/Name=DMZ/Name=ComixCursors-Black-Regular/g' /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme
2. Restart your X server.

For your friend with ubuntu:
1. sudo sed -e -i 's/Inherits=DMZ-White/Inherits=ComixCursors-Black-Regular/g' /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme
2. Restart X server.

Maybe the problem is that i had previously installed this theme and since then it got updated. So where i choose the mouse cursor theme there are 3 icons of the same name, and one of them is black, and the other two are white. But i cannot delete the white ones, only the black one which in fact i want to keep. Here is a screenshot http://kepfeltoltes.hu/100816/snapshot6_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.png

Hmm...it's kinda difficult for me, coz i've never used the Opensuse before.
Ok, let's see.. Do you have a "Default pointer" in the cursors list?

Ok, so what happened is that i got 3 cursors with the same name, and two of them are white and one is black (which i can delete). This happened after the modification which you offered me to do in the index.theme file. When i restored it i have only one ComixCursors-Black-Regular pointer theme in the list. And in none of the cases were such thing as Default Pointer. The folder /usr/share/icons/default is a symlink which links to /usr/share/DMZ wich in my list appears to be the default mouse pointer. Here is what i see (with no modification in the index.theme file) http://kepfeltoltes.hu/100816/snapshot7_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.png I don't know if this helps but i will help you if i can :)

So, if your "default" folder linked to the "DMZ" icon set, just rename "default" folder to the "default_bak" and create the symlink to the ComixCursors-Black-Regular folder and name it as "default".

Oh,guys, sorry for that,i see the comments too late....
You just change file usr/share/icons/default/index.theme,you must remove all contains and write:

[Icon Theme]
Inherits=ComixCursors-Black-Regular

and save the changes! After that open terminal and paste:

compiz --replace&

Thats all!Voala!

However for the first time it installed wrongly, (wrong colors) and I liked it even more. Actually it looked like light version of the theme. Aren't you about to provide such a version? I am not a big fan of dark themes.

 Another issue with OpenOffice

by volnei on: Aug 17 2010

Score 50%

Nobody talked about this, so I could be alone in this boat... when I launch any file with OO, the correct AwOken-themed-icon appears on the notification area at AWN dock. But, once I minimize it, the icon instantly changes to another one, the "old" system default, I guess. And there is no way to make it appear as it should again; even trying to set a "custom icon" via AWN preferences is useless. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 and ElegantGnome 0.5.0 (althoug this behavior was present in all previous versions I've tried). If you need some other info, please let me know.

Thanks again for your great job, I'm really enjoying it!
