hey this is really cool, im a newbie tho. i wanted to change 2 things:

1. how do i take the balls off the end of the red selection cursor, how can i just change it to a red stick?

2. the font in my command prompt is unevenly spaced? can i even out the spacing with this font type, or can do i have to change the font (and how might i do that?)

1. Just right-click on your desktop, then choose "Change Desktop Background". Choose the tab "Theme", then press the button "Customize", go to the tab "Pointer" and choose the pointer you want. Restart X server(Log Out and then Log In).

2. Open your terminal, then press "Edit -> Profile Preferences", there is a checkbox "use the system fixed width font" in tab "General". Just try to check/uncheck this checkbox and see if it helps.

Actually no, this is how firefox works with the dark themes(and this is not right, coz it shouldn't use gray gtk color for the web page entries). Use the useChrome.css and userContent.css, to make all the fields white.

 PPA updating correctly?

by mugsmac on: Aug 4 2010

I'm very happy to see that you've done a PPA, and not just for Ubuntu but also for Mint.

I'm using the mint PPA but wonder how I can know I've removed the old 03 version 0and have a clean .4 running? I ask this because I can see that I have a Elegant Gnome app in my menu now, so I know .4 is installed. The Mint Menu icon looks the same as it ever did. Is that right? It's still green, which is fine, but I kind of expected it to be Grey like the Ubuntu one I see in the screen shots.

I used the remove script from the 03 version before adding the PPA for 04.

I also want to add the the menu fade that compiz offers fits in very well with this theme.

Yeah, it works correctly. Just one thing to check, add the "Menu Bar" applet on your panel, and say me, if it got the same original mint icon, or grey as it should.

I added a Mint Menu to the panel as you asked. The new one was also green.

No no, I asked to add "menu bar", not a "mint menu".

I'm sorry if I misunderstood. Adding a "Main Menu" or "Menu Bar" adds the item with a grey Ubuntu logo.

This is not a big deal for me. When I added the Mint PPA I expected the Mint Menu might turn grey. The splash of green colour from the standard Mint Menu does not look bad.

Have you installed package "elegant-gnome" or "elegant-gnome-mint"? Coz it's looks like you've installed "elegant-gnome", wich is for Ubuntu.

 Blurry Movie Player Icon

by hermanlf on: Aug 4 2010

Score 50%

When using AwOken icons from your theme, totem displays a blurry icon as shown in this screenshot. http://www.flickr.com/photos/25566817@N06/4859120679/

When using the defualt Ubuntu icon theme, ubuntu-mono-dark, the icon displayed in the totem player is very crisp and sharp as shown here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/25566817@N06/4859741298/

This is obviously an icon resizing issue. Hope you can correct it.

I would also like to put in a request for a few icons: system-config-samba, nfoview, AdobeReader9, Chromium B.S.U. (game), simple-scan, simple-ccsm, usb-creator-gtk and nvidia-settings.

Can you also please include a background of resolution 2560x1024 (dual monitor).

Thanks for an awesome theme.

 Re: Blurry Movie Player Icon

Actually i can't do anything with the icon in Totem, coz the ubuntu theme uses svg icons(vector icons), and AwOken theme uses png icons(bitmap icons) with the 128x128 size as a max resolution. If you don't understand the difference between vector and bitmap images, i'll be difficult for me to explain you this, so just google it.

Icon theme got the icons for simple-scan(if you got a colored icon, this is how it should be), nvidia-settings and acrobat reader, I think that this icons just got a wrong names, so they don't work as they should. Anyway, the new version of icon theme will be released less then in 1 week, and i'll include this version of the icon theme in the next release of my pack.

The wallpaper has the original resolution, so i can't do anything with this.

 More Input :)

by hermanlf on: Aug 4 2010

Score 50%

Thanks for your super fast reply. I would also like to point out that some people using compiz may have issues with the cursor theme not working properly. This is due to a bug with compiz and not a problem with the cursor theme. It can be easily corrected by changing /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme to have the line read "Inherits=ComixCursors-Black-Regular" This is how I fixed it for myself anyway.

Regards.

Actually i noticed this "bug" only in Ubuntu, coz it has the "default" folder by default. For example in Archlinux, you don't have the "default" theme for a cursor, so it'll work as it should.

 X-Chat icon

There doesn't seem to be an xchat icon with your package. So this was the closest thing I could find to the AwOken icon theme. xchat: http://www.iconfinder.com/icondetails/24396/128/ Perhaps you could make a better one? :)

Actually, a new version of the AwOken icon theme will be released soon(and i'm waiting for it to include in the next release of my pack), so I hope there will be an icon for xchat, but until then I can't say you something certain.
