Description:

KVpnc is a KDE Desktop Environment frontend for various vpn clients. It supports Cisco VPN (vpnc, vpnclient (proritary client from cisco)), IPSec (FreeS/WAN, OpenS/WAN, stronGswan, racoon), PPTP (pptpclient),L2TP, OpenVPN, VTun and OpenSSH.

Packages for various distros can be downloaded from download page: http://home.gna.org/kvpnc/en/download.html

You need libgcrypt (http://www.g10code.com/p-libgcrypt.html). Crypto++ is now obsolete. One of them is additional needed: vpnc, freeswan, openswan, strongswan, ipsec-tools, pptpclient, l2tpd, xl2tpd, openl2tp, openvpn, vtun, openssh.

Do you plan to join the main KDE SVN repository. I think your powerful application has a place in KDE Network.

Many Thanks for it.

Just mail kde-devel@kde.org, and apply for including your app in the kde-review module.

The kde-review module was created for you!

And thats the problem, we need a public site to claim all the things which are missing in kde, or better said: We need a site to place some projects like yours and vote for it. Your tool is part of the missing link to konquer the Desktop-Market - "Normal users NEED tools like this"
The second part should be the evolution of kcontrol, to make it possible to configure everything - also server applications. So ... I hope kvpnc will be part of kcontrol - and my vote is guranteed :)

 problems cert-import

by liquidat on: Jul 12 2005

I imported a cisco pcf and now try to import the certificate "VPNclient-Certificate.der" which I placed into /etc/certs (is this the correct place?).

When I click "import certificate" and change to DER CA I can browse my filesystem to choose the file. But: the filter is *.der *.ca and I have to remove the *.ca to see my *.der certificate.

When I choose it I and press ok, the window with the filename and directory for certificate comes back - and if I press enter or click "ok", the window does not disappear!

I can press enter as often as I want, it just seems that the button does not have any function.

My system is a Fedora Core 4, kvpnc is in version 0.7.2.

 PPTP (Windows-VPN)

I've had major problems
connecting to a windows server.
Comparing with the PHP-gtk
pptp-tool brought the solution:

[x] "force mmpe"
[x] "disable 40-bit"

is required.
Perhaps this should be the
default, because it is the
default with the php-gtk-tool
and required for ordinary windows
servers.
