Description:

KVpnc is a KDE Desktop Environment frontend for various vpn clients. It supports Cisco VPN (vpnc, vpnclient (proritary client from cisco)), IPSec (FreeS/WAN, OpenS/WAN, stronGswan, racoon), PPTP (pptpclient),L2TP, OpenVPN, VTun and OpenSSH.

Packages for various distros can be downloaded from download page: http://home.gna.org/kvpnc/en/download.html

You need libgcrypt (http://www.g10code.com/p-libgcrypt.html). Crypto++ is now obsolete. One of them is additional needed: vpnc, freeswan, openswan, strongswan, ipsec-tools, pptpclient, l2tpd, xl2tpd, openl2tp, openvpn, vtun, openssh.

nice tool,

that's exactly what I needed as far as cisco vpnc does block your other nics while in use.

I just compiled it and it works great, but I'm using gentoo linux so I would appriciate it if there was a ebuild for portage.

keep on the good work crissi

marius

Someone means that it is enough to change the version number to 3.1 in the first line in the ui-file...

Can you test?

The current CVS of kvpnc supports PPTP and new version which will released next week too.

 Almost cool.

It doesn't work for me. It compiles and runs just fine, but when I try to connect to the VPN at work, I get "authentication error" in the debug window.

Running vpnc-connect by hand works just fine.

Weird.

 Still the same...

by Praxxus on: May 14 2004

Score 50%

I downloaded the CVS version, and it once again compiled and ran just fine. But when I try to connect:

Trying to connect to "(vpn concentrator name)" with user "(my user)" and IPSec ID "(my ID)"
Process started.
/usr/bin/vpnc: authentication unsuccessful

I can replicate this error running vpnc-connect manually by typing in the wrong password. I'm sure that I've entered my password correctly in kvpnc.

Hope this helps!
