 Yeah

I was hoping for something like this :)
Boot has become so fast that I barely have a chance to see distro splash.

Any chance for you to make a very simplified version of this, replacing the ethais icons with the very kubuntu dots for loading progress ?

Thanks

Yes, i was also looking for something like this. I thought the Kubuntu Team would had already made something, but the didn't.
So i started to create one. Maybe as impression for the Kubuntu Team.

To your idea, which dots do you mean? Do you have a screenshot or link?

 1280X800

Any chance of some other resolutions? I have a smaller 1280x800 screen so if I use the current theme, it appears way too large.

Yes of course. When i'm back at home this evening i can try to make some other resolutions.
Could you tell me what exactly is to big? Just the logo or even the icons?

About the simpler version, I feel like it's bigger than the bootslpash/shutdown one. The best looking thing would be to perfectly replicate that.

Also, looking for your work on the integrated KDE control panel only shows the standard version, not the simpler one.

The new version is uploaded now. it now should look excactly like the plymouth theme.

I changed the order of the screenshots. i hope the one shown in the control center will change soon to the first one, showing the simple, which is the new one.

You need to fix that brightness and the center position of the logo and the login area

Should the "Kubuntu" be centered over the box or the whole claim with the logo?

Awesome!

Just need the corresponding wallpaper now!

This should be in Kubuntu.

Just a shame that Plymouth forces me to watch 15 seconds of just a black screen before starting...

Thanks. Nice to hear you like it. Hope Plymouth will get working for you, so you can enjoy the whole new "Kubuntu Branding Feeling" :)

Wallpaper and KDM Theme will be updated soon. I'm right now working at the KDM Theme. Wallpaper will follow in the next two days

Great news.

I guess KDM is gonna have to be different to the old Ethais one as surely you want to keep the centred Kubuntu logo for consistency? Username and password dialogues must go below I guess. Something like OpenSuse 11.2

Back to Plymouth... it works for me but seems to be designed to show splash only after mounting finished, that's only possible after ureadahead, hence 10-15 seconds of anything as long as it's black. I...miss...usplash!

I saw your Lucid wallpaper by looking through the "Desktop Activity Settings" and clicking on "get new Wallpapers". After seeing the wallpaper I immediately came here and searched for it to see if it was available as a splash screen or if I can request it! Thanks for the beautiful splash screen as you know, Kubuntu seems to have removed the Plymouth screen during some beta, in order to make the boot process go faster (and I think it was a great choice from the devs). Thanks for combining the Plymouth screen and the KDE's splash screen into to this great animation.
