Looks good but I don't see maximize or minimize buttons on the window controls, the metacity looks a bit thick but I like it

open your mind and think freely, it usually makes things look different.

 Pretty but...

It looks really nice, but the window border and toolbar is a huge waste of space. There is literally nothing going on there.

Yes, I thought of this, too. But shrinking the upper part wouldn't be a problem.

 Themeing

It looks very nice, but are you sure the nice looks isn't theme-dependent? Have you tried making mockups of how it would look with e.g. Elementary, Human, etc.? Also, I think a few more buttons for stuff I use often would be nice.
Also, the bookmark sidebar looks nice there, but would it still look good and usable with a different background?

I made this mockup to show how I would like my Nautilus to look like. You are right, this might look very ugly with other icons or colors.

Besides, I am not very thrilled by the way GTK works. It would be pretty cool if it was also possible to define the whole layout of different programs by a theme (via XML for example). This would offer a lot more opportunities and my design could be realized. ;)
