Description:

MPD plasma client - it small simply plasmoid, written on python, which controls mpd server.
There are only the following functions: previous/next song, play/pause, stop.

You can find fresh version on mercurial repo. Just run:
hg clone http://bitbucket.org/memnek/mpd-plasma-client/
and "plasmapkg -i mpd-plasma-client/" to install

Browse source:http://bitbucket.org/memnek/mpd-plasma-client/src

INSTALL
Go to your download directory and run:
Quote:

plasmapkg -i MPD-plasma-client.plasmoid

If you have old version, delete it:
Quote:

plasmapkg -r MPD-plasma-client


If you have a problem, please run:
Quote:

plasmoidviewer MPD-plasma-cient.plasmoid

and send output to me. It help to fix bugs.

I finished popup dialog with song info and now I'll trying to add features which you asked (volume, song info etc.)

    Ты же тоже русский =) а я с английским парюсь
    в общем, я временно не могу продолжать писать, потому как обновился до RC2 и весь PyQt полетел к чертям, ни одна программа не запускается. а в слепую разрабатывать сложно
    я думаю, после выхода стабильного релиза всё заработает

    Столкнулся с такой же проблемой. "Не удалось создать движок python, необходимый для виджета "MPD-plasma-client". kde 4.4.1, pyqt установлен. Чего-то не хватает или не моя ошибка? Дистрибутив - Arch Linux.

    у меня так было, когда я обновился до RC4.4. это связано с поломанными зависимостями, видимо (pykde видимо отстает от kde).
    если запустить plasmoidviewer %папка или архив с плазмоидом%, то вероятно выдаст что-то типа
    needed API v1.7, but used API v1.6

    скорее всего надо ждать обновлений

    Well...it seems that it is not fixed. I've just installed it, but still receive the same message.

    Is this plasmoid can work ONLY with mpd server on localhost, or it is possible to handle remote servers, too?

    I'm looking for the second option

    I don't tested work on remote servers. In settings you may set "host" and "port", but option "user/pass" I'll add in future releases

    У меня подобная проблема, на локальной машине не стоит mpd, а плазмоид при запуске сразу пытается подключиться к серверу который прописан по умолчанию, и вылетает с ошибкой. Отредактировал на нужный сервер, всё заработало, но хотелось бы иметь возможность редактирования настроек даже если клиент не подключился к серверу, это же логично. версия плазмоида 0.4

    thx for the update!

    a while back i requested the song info (name,album,artist) to be added next to the buttons. you mentioned you added them but i cant see how. what i meant is having the song info constantly present on the taskbar (next to the buttons) and not just as a pop up when the song changes

    is that possible?
