Description:

MalistaLogin a GTK Theme for the Ubuntu 9.10 GDM

MalistaLogin is based on Malista 0.2 by KHendrik from (www.gnome-look.org)
Malista is a modified version of MinimaLista 0.11 by FiremanSam.
MinimaLista 0.11 is a minimal version of Murrina-LiNsta by etiennealaurent.

Requires:
- Murrine engine for GTK2
- Pixmap engine for GTK2
- Human theme (cursor)
- New Wave theme (metacity)
- MalistaLoginIcons (icons)

Optional:
- Malista GTK Theme
- Malista Cairo-Dock Theme


Installation:
1) extract MalistaLoginIcons to /usr/share/icons/
2) use "sudo -u gdm dbus-launch gnome-appearance-properties" to install the GTK Theme for the GDM [this will cause the accessibility icon to appear in the systemtray but step 4) is about removing it]
3) select your wallpaper in the same Dialog
4) change the entry for enabled in "~/.gconf/desktop/gnome/accessibility/keyboard/%gconf.xml" to false to remove the accessibility icon from the systemtray

Tip: Copy your Wallpaper to /usr/share/images/xsplash/ an rename it to "bg_2560x1600.jpg" now it will replace the xsplash background.

is there another way, a cleaner way i dare say, to change gdm config ? in my session, when i launch gnome-appearence-properties with your dbus-launch method, a new icon appeared in the systray, for the accessibility, and i can't remove it. I had to remove my .gconf directory --"

Hi, sorry I know no other way, I had the icon too but it vanished after a reboot.

I've expiremented a bit and I have the icon too. I don't know why it appears.
I originaly found the command here: http://tinyurl.com/ykjnngu
in the comments there's another way mentioned, i don't know if that would work without making the icon appear but perhaps its worth a shot.

The Standard BG image for Xsplash can be found in /usr/share/images/xsplash.

OK I found a fix to remove the icon without deleting the .gconf directory and losing your configuration.
To remove the icon enter "gedit ~/.gconf/desktop/gnome/accessibility/keyboard/%gconf.xml" in your console and change the last entry value for enabled to false now logout and in again, its gone :)
