Description:

Plastikfox is a theme for Mozilla Firefox to make it have the same look as the KDE programs with the Plastik style and the Crystal SVG 1.0 icon set.

ABOUT THE OK AND CANCEL BUTTONS: Firefox 1.5 doesn't have OK and Cancel buttons anymore in the Options dialog but it's possible to enable them again. Just write "about:config" in the address bar, search for the key "browser.preferences.instantApply" and set it to false. The OK and Cancel buttons should be there back again.

BUTTON ORDER: You can reverse the button order in the dialog boxes so they are like in the other KDE applications. Simply click "Reverse button order" to install a patch to activate this feature.

COLOR SCHEME: Plastikfox doesn't follow the KDE color scheme. Remember it's just a theme for Firefox, so it's impossible to do it. It's made with the 'Plastik' color scheme. If you want to change the color scheme you'll have to modify the theme manually. :(

Thanks to Everaldo for his Crystal SVG icon sets. You can get them at:
http://www.everaldo.com

-------------------------------------
HOW TO INSTALL
-------------------------------------

If you have an older version of the theme, uninstall it before installing a new one.

· Extract the files anywhere you want
· Open the install.html file in Firefox (you don't need to be 'root')
· Click the "Install" button
· Accept when it prompts for the theme installation
· 'Tools' menu - Themes
· Select 'Plastikfox Crystal SVG' and click 'Use this theme'
· Restart Firefox (VERY IMPORTANT!)
· Enjoy!

If you want, you may delete the downloaded files once the theme is installed.

-------------------------------------
POLL
-------------------------------------

Your opinion counts! I would like to know if you prefer keeping the current icon set or changing the icons to the ones included in KDE 3.5. Please vote here:

 font anti-alias?

Hi,

Really cool theme! Thanks!

However, I haven't been able to get the anti-alising to work on the UI menus. I've searched lo and hi in the web and messed up my userchrome.css file countless times to no avail. Any solution and/or pointers to my issue?

Thanks in advance!

You might probably be using a version of Firefox without GTK2 and XFT support. Try with this one:

Thanks a bunch!

I didn't even know Firefox came pre-compiled with GTK! BTW, your theme kicks some serious butt!

ON Mdk 10 kde frezzes when ~/.gtk-2.0 file has -> gtk-theme-name = "Qt"
I have to comment, start kde and then put this line again to works, it works fine but this little issue is bad

There's no need to use GtkQt to make Plastikfox work. I haven't tested GtkQt yet, so I don't know if Plastikfox works with it. Anyway, it's something related to Firefox itself, not to this theme.

Right now Plastikfox isn't compatible with the tabbrowser extensions. I've taken a look at it, but there isn't an easy sollution. Tabbrowser extensions override what I say in the theme and I think I'm going to have to create a patch for the tabbrowser extensions so they don't override that and they work with Plastikfox.

well, the theme is still very nice. I rather use the theme than the extension, and that's one of my favorite extension.

love theme! (fit with other programs =))

May the open source be with you.

No, it doesn't. But I'll probably make a port of this theme for Thunderbird. Keep an eye on kde-look.org. ;)

I just noticed that the "all downloads have been completed" dialog box is unthemed.

Are you planning on fixing it with the next release? :)
