 Great app

And, I would love to have it.
But, I downloaded it, ran ./configure (all went well), make (all went well), then make install (install went well), and cannot find it in the kicker panel Add->Applet list. Probably because I didn't ./configure it with /my/KDE/dir. Excuse me for being a newbie, but, I don't know where my KDE dir is (where KDE is installed).
Can anyone tell me how to find this out. I did a search for KDE and found several KDE and KDE3 directories on my Red Hat Linux Fedora Core 1 box. Which one should I use. Is there a terminal command I can run to find out where /my/KDE/dir is? Is there a specific app in my KDE directory that is no where else on my system letting me know that is the correct directory where KDE is installed?

Please help a Linux newbie. Thank you.

OK, I was informed about the kde-config command and learned how to find out where my KDE is installed. That is exactly what I was trying to learn. Thank you everyone who helped me with this - especially Chris.

Try installing it with ./configure --prefix=/usr

Another thing you could try is setting the KDEDIR environment... Redhat does not set this environment. I think KDEDIR should be set at /usr. It would be a whole lot easier if Redhat simply installed the packages on their systems the way they should be installed!!!!!!

Good luck - Redhat is a pain!

Is KickPIM supposed to work with KDE version 3.4.2-level-b? If not, is there any initiative to make an updated version for the new KDE?

many of the cpp files had an extra ';' after function definitions... compiler didnt like it at all .. had to manually remove from code ... no biggie :)

gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)
