nice. im still trying to get used to doing work in gimp... ive played with it for years, but everything that ive done up until the Raven wallpapers i did last night has been done in photoshop, and for web sites i was creating. i really wish i knew how to use gimp to this degree. this is fantastic. nice work :)

Gimp was really hard for me at first, since I used tuxpaint :P So it took a LONG time for me to master it. About a year. But a great way to make these backdrops is to select the 'Horizon 1' gradient, set it to 'Radial' then drag it across the page. Then set the mode to 'Difference' and just do the excat same thing but on the opposite side. Keep dragging it around the page and you'll get an effect like mine right here.

Hope this helps!
