 Awsome theme!

 by joth666 on: Jul 5 2009

Score 50%

Great, great theme and one that definitely sticks out!

One wish though: It would be even (from my aesthetic point of view that is...) if the tooltips were more transparant than they are now. As it is, they almost look black in most situations even though they are not.

The text in my taskbar is black and I can't read a thing, how should I change it?

Hmmm, that is definitely not the intended behavior. Which version number of KDE are you using? You can find out by clicking "help" then "about kde" in any kde application.

Thanks! I've designed this theme using 4.2.95 (4.3 RC1). I don't think it should be a version issue, as I believe panel font colors were inherited the same way in your version.

Here are my suggestions to try:

Firstly, switch to another theme, and switch back to "Ghost" if you haven't already tried this. Sometimes things get goofed up when switching between themes.

If this doesn't work, you could try to clear the cache the following way.
Switch to another theme, then type the following into a command prompt:

rm ~/.kde/cache-*/plasma* (this will return an error but it is okay to ignore)
rm ~/.kde/cache-*/kpc/plasma*

then logout of kde, log back in and apply "Ghost" again.

Please let me know if either of these methods work for you.

I did it, but no luck. I have white fonts on oxygen, elegance, etc, but no in Ghost.

I could only change the clock font, in his config.

http://omploader.org/vMXhnOQ/ghost2.jpeg

I selected other taskbar font in system settings in order to read, but I can not change the color.

Anyway, KDE 4.3 is near, I can wait.

 Blur in taskbar

by bitcrazy on: Jul 5 2009

The content of the active tab in the taskbar shouldn't be blurred.
Colour of the clock font shouldn't be black.
But real cool theme anyway.

It is not intended for the text to be blurred in the active tab, nor black clock text. Would you mind providing the version number of KDE you are using? To find out, click "help" then "about kde" in any kde application.

I'm using KDE 4.3rc1.
Btw. I forgot the notification popup with black fontcolor.

Odd. I designed this theme with the same version of KDE. Something must be wrong, that is not the way it should look at all.

Another stunning theme.

Original and beautiful.

I have one small request though, Is there any chance of adding a toolbox.svg in a future revision for applying the theme to the plasma toolbox?

Many thanks for your work.

T

btw could you make all white and grey lines to be glowish-green, as the active tab in the taskbar? About the active tab....well, we should see it...maybe a glowish-green font-color? :)

Thanks! When you say white and grey lines, do you mean all of them theme-wide, or just the taskbar? I'll consider changing the white and grey lines if there is more of a demand for it, but I'm happy with the way it looks for now.

As far as the active tab font color, I would love to try this, but as far as I know, all of taskbar text color is shared with the widget text. If I ever figure out it is possible, I will likely give it a shot. =)

Uhm .. actually I really don't know what I mean :D
I'll try tomorrow some personal modifications and tell you my opinion, couse now I don't have KDE. I can't make critics and suggestions without trying it on my machine (now seeing it only on few screenshots). Tomorrow we'll see ... ;)

The most important is the taskbar for now. I mean...the widget at the dashboard looks great. It may be great if there is glowish effect in the borders of plasma windows as KickOff menu, Run Command dialog, Shut Down...etc.
About the font of active tab...is there other way to mark the active tab? I mean if everything is green...then the active tab will be the same as the unactive one :) Or may be the whole tab to be green...or something.

I intend to try out a glow on the borders of the dialog background (kickoff, etc.) but it's going to be difficult, so I have been putting it off. =)

As far as the taskbar goes, I have tried the buttons all the same color, and it doesn't look too terrible, as the transparency is different for active and inactive tasks. I can't really make a button solid colored, as i don't have control over task state font color, and it would end up unreadable as white text on a brightly colored background.

I suppose if I were to go this route, I could add a subtler version of the shine (hover effect) to active tasks, or it may be possible to fill with a solid color but adjust transparency very light so that text becomes readable...

I'll probably never use your themes, as they don't suit my personal tastes, but I love them anyway. It's quite satisfying to see themes that are actually different beyond color and transparency. Fantastic. Thank you :)
