Description:

Dark glassy colorful theme.

Download: Click on download link and after 3 seconds you will be redirected to another page where you can download the whole pack.

Notes:

The theme named "Saturglass single color" has only one color which is customizable from Gnome theme manager. I made also predefined colors, so you can use different color for window border and for GTK+ theme. All colors used in a pack are mentioned in a "README (colors)" file which is in the Saturglass pack.

It's very easy to make your own predefined colors or to change a title alignment or even to change a button icon size. To do so read a "README (easily customize your theme)" file which is included in the Saturglass pack.

Saturglass devel version is meant only for creating your own predefined colors. It will not work until you edit it completely. For more information read the "README (easily customize your theme)" file which is included in the Saturglass pack.

In a pack you can also find background images for GNOME panels. There are only images for horizontal panels (vertical can be created by rotating the image in an image editor). Images' height size vary from 24-32 pixels (only even numbers). Each color version has also appropriate "minmax" color which is a color of minimize and maximize button of the theme.

Changelog:

1.4
- antialias button icons

 I like this one! :-)

I must say I like this one -- the glass effect is so cool! :-) However, I have a question: Is it possible to assign two different colors to the minimize and maximize buttons, such as, say, making the minimize button yellowish-orange and the maximize button green, kinda like has been done with the several variations on the "Nimbus" Metacity and Emerald themes?

Yes, this is possible. And very easily. :-) All you need is devel version (included in all packages) and to read part of a "README (easily customize your theme)" file which is included in all packages too.

I just note, that you can use different color for menu, minimize, maximize/restore, close, and titlebar.

Awesome, thanx for the info! :-)

BTW, you released this one just in time, because our youngest niece and nephew (ages 7 and 9) are going to be spending next week with us, and the reason I mentioned what I did was because I've been looking for something colorful if they wanna get on the computer (mind you, we'll mainly be going to the zoo, the Science Center, the Magic House, and other neat stuff here in St. Louis that kids will enjoy), and I think that this idea, with the changes I mentioned, will fill the bill quite nicely in the Metacity department if at any time they wanna get on the computer. :-)

A glassy metacity with color options is one I have waited for a long, long time. Good work! Could you make a similar design for GTK 2.x (full theme)?

Thanks. I'm glad you like it.

To make GTK 2.x theme - hmm I was thinking about it and took a closer look on GTK+ theming. It seems not to be difficult but it means to learn some thinks, what takes a time. I have never made a GTK+ theme, so I am not experienced in it. And now I must concentrate on university I will attend. And so I'm not planning making GTK+ theme in near future - I'm sorry. Maybe you (or someone else) can try to remake MacOSX theme to dark version. It could look interesting.

BTW the GTK+ theme used on screenshots is Divinorum.

I really like, but since I'm using sawfish I'll first have to port it to it.

... But that should not take too long :)

as most of this theme is done with the xml file, this will take longer than expected ...

Very nice window decorations! Is it possible you could provide us a correctly sized image to make our gnome panels match? Would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Yes I can provide. Can you tell me what hight size of panels do you use? Because I must make images of certain heights which can vary. And also if you use vertical panels (the width of it).

that would be awesome! my panels are 26 pixels. I know thats not standard but otherwise my computer icon gets cut off on the gnome-main-menu. I would greatly appreciate the "watter" and the "blue". Thanks

So I made panel background images. I made these sizes: 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 pixels. Images are only for horizontal panels because it is most used. Vertical panels can be created by editing image in an image editor or image viewer - rotate 90 degrees left or right. Every color used in theme color pack is used in the images (including color of minimize and maximize button - minmax).

Panel-background images are included in theme archives.

I'm glad you like the theme :)

Can't install on Ubuntu 9.04 — Jaunty Jackalope :( I choose "Appearance Preferences" selected Theme tabbed section to select a theme, then selected "Install new theme" and selected "Saturglass_blue.tar.gz"-file, and I got message transleted from Russian it says: "Error. It looks like 'Saturglass blue' is not the theme" :( Could you tell me please how to install this nice theme on Ubuntu 9.04???

Thank you in advance.

Hi. The package you downloaded contains more files and folders inside it. Besides README textfiles there is one archive file which is the theme. So to install it first you have to unpack (unarchive) the downloaded package.

You can do so by right clicking on it and choosing 'Extract Here' from popup menu. It will create folder 'Saturglass blue'. Then you can install the theme the same way as you did, but instead of choosing downloaded archive you have to navigate to extracted folder and choose the archive inside that folder (name is similar: 'Saturglass blue').

BTW There is Installation instruction text file inside downloaded archive. But it is not so detailed as I said it in this comment.
