Hi
I managed to install it on my SuSE 9.0 box but I have no icons. Where should the theme be located?

 Good Thing(TM)

I'm currently using KInternet
from SuSE but I think it's
proprietary or at least it only
works properly with SuSE.
Something like this app should
be included in KDE. It's badly
needed for distros without
KInternet. I wanted to try it
out but it's the first KDE app
I've ever seen which fails to
install properly with checkinstall.
Well, it's an alpha-version so
perhaps this is fixed.
I won't install any software
without checkinstall because it's
too much of a hassle to remove
it again.

You can try to install to a fake directory like $HOME/yourtest
you will find the binary into
$HOME/yourtest/bin
now simply run it :)
(remember to copy the icons, see manuals pages)

It already runs in its directory
after compilation but no
icons.
Could you explain that
"remember to copy the icons"
part a bit more?
In which manual can I find more information on this?

What window is it?
when you start the ktraynetworker it's minimized to tray. to show the main window you have to click the icon, isn't it?

i mean, when kde starts, i have the ktray to autostart, and it always shows a screen with the eth0 device, the speed, receive and transmit... the window that appears if you press the restore option in ktray

 Great work...

...but a few issues, firstly the file selector appears to be Qt's rather than KDE's, should be a minor change.
Also the icons are HiColour, but seen as CrystalSVG is default, woudl it be possible to provide a CrystalSVG icon, possibly use the kppp icons.

Also is there plans to allow one KTrayNetworker to manage multiple devices (eg eth0, eth1 and ppp0) and display 3 seperate tray icons to monitor these devices?

Anyways, once again, thanks for this contribution.

also, i just noticed the added themes section on your website, but shouldn't it be the job of the currently selected icon set to choose icons? IMHO the themes feature kind of detracts from KDE usability wise and common Look & Feel, and teh ability for the user to set Look and Feel in one place (which should be the icon KCM).

 Install path

by jeffkjo on: Jan 27 2004

First of all, this is a wonderful application. I've been looking for something like this since the day I first switched to linux. I like to keep track of my data transfer, and 'xnetload' just isn't cutting it (I really wanted either a superkaramba applet or a tray icon.) You've done it!

You've given me just what I need, however, when I installed, it did not go into the correct location.

I had to use the prefix command and specify that ktraynetworker install to '/usr/local' so that it would show up in the kde application path and I wouldn'd have to navigate to the directory manually to start it.

I'm using SuSE 9, if that makes a difference.

All in all, a great application.

If an icon theme cam with it by default that would be great

 Packets VS Kbytes

by jeffkjo on: Jan 27 2004

Again, let me say, this is a great application, and I recognize it is only in the beta testing phases, but I do have one feature request.

The application appears to be using the direct output from /sbin/ifconfig for RX and TX bytes and does not appear to be converting for Mbytes. Can that be implemented in a future release?

Also, just a random question... RX and TX bytes. When does that information reset? Does it reset on reboot? Or does it reset itself by logging out of KDE?
