Description:

KMyMoney is the BEST Personal Finance Manager for Linux Users, full stop.

It operates similar to MS-Money, supports different account types, categorisation of expenses and incomes, reconciliation of bank accounts and QIF import/export. Online banking support (statement download) is also provided for the OFX and HBCI protocols.

In order to stay informed about new releases of the software, please subscribe to the user mailing list of the project. To subscribe please visit https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kmymoney and follow the instructions presented.

Please report any problems to the KDE bug-tracker at https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=kmymoney4&format=guided and use kmymoney4 as project as we cannot check this site (kde-apps.org) on a regular/frequent basis.

There's also a forum at http://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=69 where you can get help if needed.

Changelog:

The KMyMoney Team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of
KMyMoney version 4.6.4 [1][2]. This version contains quite a few fixes for bugs
found in 4.6.3 since it was released .

Here is a list of the most important changes since the last stable release:

* OFX files with UTF-8 data can now be imported correctly
* Fix displaying the 'Enter/Skip schedule' action icons in the homepage on
Windows
* Fixed the initial size of the schedule entry dialog in some use cases
* Fixed a hang in reports in some scenarios
* Fixed some Finance::Quote related problems on Windows
* Allow editing the memo of multiple transactions
* Fix schedule handling
* Make the QIF import on Windows usable
* Fix GnuCash file import
* Improve item navigation using the keyboard
* Scheduled transactions can now be correctly skipped or ignored when
automatic entry is enabled
* Fix the budgets that somehow still reference invalid accounts

For a full list of the changes please check out the changelog [3]. We highly
recommend upgrading to 4.6.2 as soon as possible. We would also recommend
packagers to endorse this version as their latest stable version of KMyMoney
due to the number of fixes available vs. 4.5.3. During this bugfix cycle a new
release of libalkimia was also made available.

When will we see this release in the Debian "unstable" repository, or even just the "experimental" branch? I tried to install it via apt today, but I got only the 0.6.4 release...

actually, that's true ;) glad to see it landed there, though; for (lazy) novices like me it's always the best way to pick up new stuff!

v0.70 is awesome! One request is is it possible for you guys to add the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) to the market types, and allow Australian stock quotes to be automatically updated (they can be obtained from a number of sites including yahoo australia (www.yahoo.com.au)).

Hi,

for the 2-0.8 release, I get a:

In function `KMyMoneyPlugin::KMMStatementInterface::~KMMStatementInterface()':
undefined reference to 'vtable for KMyMoneyPlugin::StatementInterface'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

I use gcc version 3.4.3 and I am compile the complete KDE 3.4.2 release on my Mandrake 10.2 system.

Please check if https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1259164&group_id=4708&atid=304708
helps to solve the problem. Otherwise, you will have to compile from CVS label rel-0-8.

Further questions regarding this matter should be directed to the developer mailing list at kmymoney2-developer@lists.sourceforge.net

 Extremely excellent!

This is a very good application. The start page is great. I would like to ask if the following ideas could be thought about for the next update:

  1. on the start page add a configurable (30 days, current month only, etc.) Income vs. Expenses table, similar to the report that is available but only the bottom line total income vs. expense. Oddly I like the bar graphs of Expenses vs. Income that MSMoney 2001 Delux puts out for this from a quick "How broke I am" glance.

  2. A budget item that automatically works with the transactions (I.E. I enter my rent for the month and it automatically updates my budget showing the amout I paid vs. the amount I budgeted & so on.). That way I can see how I'm doing on my budget for the month.

Those 2 things are the only thing missing IMO. Otherwise this is a STELLAR app, definately one of the best I've seen for KDE.
If you are ever in Ft. Collins, CO I'll buy you a round of beers, you deserve it for this app.

Thanks for your comment. Charts and budget support is planned for future releases. See http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/release-plan.html#version_10 for details. If we get someone working on budgeting in time, it might even be available in 1.0.

 Request

I absolutely love this program, it is one of many that has inspired me to try my hand at programming after being in infrastructure for over 10 years. However there is on little thing that confuses me. When you release a new version, the changelog on KDE-Apps appears to include all previous changes also, meaning I cannot accurately know what has actually changed. Would it be possible to display the changes sorted by revision?

Cheers to all!

In the past, I only included all changes between two revisions in very detailed form (extract from project's ChaneLog file).

For new stable releases such as our current 0.8 release, I exchange that with a list of features that have been added since the previous stable release (0.6 in this case). The next release (0.8.1) will contain the ChangeLog again.

Hope that helps.

If Windows is the answer I want my problem back!
