Description:

Last update of this theme! Now 3.0.

This is a theme with a Windows Seven feel based off of the midnightblackplastic theme for GTK 2.0. It gives you a Seven-ish taskbar. I did not create the MidnightBlackPlastic theme, it was some character named "Wes", but credits (and huge thanks) for their artwork go to him! Also, credit goes to ZeroPrime for his improvements to the theme! I added shortcut icons, but since iconizing is not possible on Ubuntu 8.04 and under, I added a window selector to keep my taskbar neat and clean like in Windows. The theme looks the best when the gnome panel is set to a size of 38 pixels or greater (windows Seven taskbar is 40 pixels). Anything below that size unstacks your date and time. The sidebar is courtesy of screenlets, and I use Emerald and Compiz Fusion to get many desktop effects, including the aero theme. Feel free to improve on this theme, just make sure you give credit to myself and the creator of the midnightblackplastic theme :-). Thanks!

A complete package is also available, which contains icons, cursors, and an emerald theme. It was a collaborated effort between ZeroPrime and myself. See here for details! http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Seven+Redo?content=101548

For the seven orb and start menu, install gnomenu (https://launchpad.net/gnomenu), the Win7 orb (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Win7+menu+button?content=98048), and the Seven (ish) start menu (http://asilaydyingdl.deviantart.com/art/Seven-ish-GnoMenu-theme-116582219).

P.S. If you are a Windows hater, do not come around just to bash or vote negative. You have better things to do.

Changelog:

-New Menubar background.
-New dropdown menus.
-Gnome Panel icon background included (for those of us who cannot install dockbar)
-Package available with icons (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Seven+Redo?content=101548)

 Oh no...

I hate seven's panel, it's big, and ugly. Vista is great looking, for sure, but Seven is really ugly!
Why don't you make a smaller panel like... 24 px..? ;)

I think shrinking your panel wont hurt anything... but you will have to choose a different Gnomenu button, thats all, and your clock will be unstacked (keeping it stacked in 24 px would make it unreadable).

 Dependencies

You have to fix some dependencies in your "index" file:
- You have put as engine SevenPlastic but you have to rename it in "sevenplastic" or it will give error
- Why dependencies on Lista icons?
gnome would be better (you surely have those icons)

And a suggestion:
It's better for you to edit mine Vista theme, it's more accurate I guess, and You have to work on button panels too, they're not the same as in 7 ;)

This is actually my first theme... thanks for pointing those things out. I like the rest of the theme so I doubt I will change it... dark themes are my thing and perhaps that drives my love for windows themes haha. I will fix the other things and resubmit it soon! Thanks!

P.S. Feel free to implement this in to your Vista theme if you want to make it more true to the real Windows 7. I am not in a rush to do so though so I probably wont.

I think it would have been helpful to the creator of this theme if you had actually said what you didn't like about this version.

I love your theme. I have modified it a bit to make the menus and menu bars more color coordinated with the panel. I also modified the panel (from your original theme) so that it can be made larger without the over lapping and still keep the top gradient. I wanted to get your permission before posting it.
