Just one remark: If you want people to build themes, it could be a good idea to finish the preview stuff in the theme builder.

From my point of view, this is the only reason why there are no themes yet for this awesome style. Designers need a preview without hassle, including me :)

 how-to

I've read all the comments above carefully, but still don't understand the proper action sequence to make custom Quantum theme (yeah, I'm dumb). Probably it'll be better if there will be detailed how-to. Otherwise, it's quite hard to understand, and this is not good for theme makers.
Anyway, thanks for attention and this great theme plugin. Will try :-)

P.S
I'm relly dumb. There was a kinda how-to in the comments. But it still be very good if you provide more details about creating quantum themes.

And sorry for the spam again. I've folloved the instructions above (created all needed files/directories, no doubt), but still get "Cannot open file '/home/user//home/user/.config/QuantumStyle//.svg', because: No such file or directory".
echo $XDG_CONFIG_HOME returns "/home/user.config". I've taken a look at your code and figured out that "QString("%1/%2/QuantumStyle/quantumstyle.qsconfig").arg(home).arg(xdg_config_home))" makes double "/home/user/". Perhaps it's my system bug, I don't know exactly, but it seems to be the root of the problem described above.

Hi,

The message 'no such file or directory' is NORMAL when Quantum has no theme set (i.e. uses its default theme).

But I have set "theme=style" in quantumstyle.qsconfig. Because of the problem of double "/home/user" it cannot be accessed, so Quantum is unable to set the style properly. I've tried to fix this by myself, but I failed. (I'll try again if you won't do it soon :) )
Thanks for attention!

and you're right, %1/%2 resolves to double /home/user

I'll fix this :) Thanks for reporting

You probably did not install the development libraries for Qt.
You need both Qt and its devel libraries

I have installed the libraries and every package containing qt3 or qt4 in the package name but to no avail.

i'm using ubuntu jaunty 32bit with qt3 3.3.8 and qt4 4.5.0 from the standard jaunty repositories.

SO you have both Qt3 and Qt4 installed.
Be sure to compile with Qt4 tools.

the qmake you use must be the one from Qt4. To see which one is used, type
qmake --version

if it reports 4, ok, otherwise you have to find it and use the full path (e.g. /usr/bin/qmake or /usr/qt/4/bin/qmake)

once you have used the right qmake, compilation should be OK

you can also use the compiled files provided by the person who the message above yours :) thanks to him, it has also jaunty and Qt 4.5.1

 use plasma theme's svg files

if quantumstyle can use a plasma theme's svg files, it will be great.

see this example:
